Tomorrow sees our 6th ever home League match against Wycombe. From the previous 5, we have 2 wins, 2 defeats and a draw with 7 goals apiece.

Man in charge will be Mark Heywood from Northwich (not to be confused with the more experienced Mark Haywood from Wakefield). He is in his third season as a League referee and has refereed Southend four times before.

Firstly the home 2-1 win over Oxford in 2011/12 with the yellows going 2-1 to us as well.

Secondly the 0-0 draw at Torquay towards the end of the same season where they picked up 4 yellows to our one (Mohsni).

More recently and most memorably he did last season's fine away win at Chesterfield in the snow, cautioning only Tomlin for over-celebrating (slightly!).

Finally there was the home match late last season against Fleetwood when a very late Corr goal equalised a very early Fleetwood goal - one yellow to their 2.

So we have a decent record to maintain with him.

He has been given a number of Championship matches and his card count is only a fraction above average at 73 yellows and just 2 reds from 22 games.

He will be assisted by two Adrians; Sannerude from Lowestoft and Gillett from Aylesbury. The familiar figure of Constantine Hatzidakis from Bromley will be 4th Official.

I saw a number of the games he has ref'd and don't remember him SO he must have been ok. I hope it continues that way today.

Was bloody shocking!!!!! I went to the game feeling distinctly under the weather and have come away with my throat even worse!
