Corr blimey!

My Cambridge United supporting mate sent this this earlier today. He's quite pleased. So am I:-)

"sent from the Cambridge website today

Cambridge United have agreed a two-year deal with former Southend United striker Barry Corr, who arrives at the Abbey Stadium in time to exclusively reveal the new 2015/16 home shirt.

The 30-year joins the U’s following five years at Roots Hall where he accumulated 181 appearances in League Two and over 50 goals, becoming the fourth player to pen a deal with United this summer.

A renowned goal scorer in the Football League, Corr is certain to bring an additional creative and clinical edge to Richard Money’s side from next season.

BBBC's last moment for us.

What a ****

That read **** by the way, not anything that is knocking Corr

Works both ways. His employer let his contract run down to one month before it ended so what loyalty did we show him.

Very true, but he could have at least discussed it with us.

Discussed on twitter and they doubled his salary that we pay him now and we only offered £100 a week raise. Whilst that sounds miserly to me I certainly wouldnt have thought doubling his salary would have been reasonable. How true that is I dont know though...

Maybe he signed for Cambridge because he wasn't sure who our Manager will be next season. Unless I've missed something PB is out of contract too.

Thanks BBBC for the five years. Your last touch was the greatest and will be remembered by all who were privileged to see it. Let's all be thankful that you weren't obliged to take a penalty, otherwise history may have been written differently. :winking:
Time moves on for you and the club and only time will tell whether you and perhaps the club made the right decision. Good luck at Cambridge. Many appear totally shocked and cut up by your decision but NOTHING in comparison to 'Tangled up in Blue' who is obviously SO distraught that he has been incapable of posting. Oh yes he has........just above!!!

Never more than a League 2 striker at best, he obviously never fancied League 1 cos he aint gonna go anywhere with Cambridge............. while we are talking about cambridge we should be in for Ryan Donaldson, a good creative hard working Phil Brown type player!!

If what is being said on Twitter has any truth they doubled his money. Think at his age that would have a massive bearing on his decision rather than what league he fanices.

And as I said on Sunday (and got shot down for) with all but one of these players were offered a contract too there is offering a contract and there is offering a proper deal too. Its good PR from the club to offer all of our "Wembley heros" a new deal. In reality Brown does not want them all but if they are willing to work for £100 more than last year then why not as we need a squad. I speak to managers and agents all the time and they tell me this.

I was speaking to a Bury player today who told me the same thing happened to him . This is football and the rules that apply to normal employment don't apply here. Dont be surprised if another player or two doesn't do the same.

If they wanna pay double what we did then more fool them, I'm excited i won't be seeing him up front us next season, we were too one dimensional with him up front & he'll still be marked out of the game when they play Luton if Fatty McNulty plays!

Very disappointed, however, I'm sure the decision by Barry was based on what was best for him and his family in the context of a short, uncertain career as a professional footballer at a lower level. Thank you Barry, you have been a great servant for my club. I for one will miss you.

You want to swap Corr for a player with 5 goals in league 2 this season.

:hilarious:

Is that the same McNulty that was in the League 2 team of the year? Yeah Corr must really be crap.
