The club wasn't sure which league we would be playing in, it's would be sorted out has we beaten the Morecambe jinx at the begging of May. Now they do know what league the play in, plus we have to get forward of high standard, pace, movement & finishing touch, that is something that Corr lacked for us.

But is it the clubs fault? Just seems a bit sudden two fingers up job by corr - I hope I am wrong

I think DTS could be right, the club has a track record of offering contracts it doesn't expect players to sign so that they don't have to be seen as letting popular players go. Happened with Wayne Gray as well as Bentley and Jupp. Disappointing if so because I think we're losing the best targetman in the bottom two divisions.

Let's see what comes out in the next few weeks.

A bit gutted to hear about Barry leaving to be honest.

You would never describe Barry Corr as lightweight. Someone like Barry would be an asset in league 1. Willing to battle, work hard and not be intimidated. He didn't really set the world alight but he was good for what he was.

Is it any shock though mate? IF the club have only offered him a 1-year-deal, and Cambridge have offered a 2-year-deal, as a family man, with bills to pay, it's a no-brainer no?

Now, I don't know what SUFC have offered him, but you haven't got to be a rocket scientist to work out that the Cambridge deal was obviously, financially, better than ours.

The only reason I can see for this, is PB has had a word in his ear to say he would not be 1st choice next season. Money aside why would any pro footballer choose div 2 over div1, it doesn't make sense. PB, utter silence, RM, I no nothing.

Maybe we just still don't believe or realise we are a LEAGUE ONE CLUB NOW!? And as such we need a better pedigree of player and like I have said before this is the real test of browns management

Will be interesting to see Browns take on it,they seemed so happy at Wembley! Anyway we do need a better strike force in L1 with pace if we are to compete, so the new signings will give a better answer as to whether he will be a great loss

He did well for us and we did well by him. We've had the best of Barry so its time to move on and look ahead. Good luck to him.

Shame to see him go. Had a decent record of 1 goal every 3 matches but we will probably find we can get someone just as good (or better) to replace. In terms of why he left, it could be as simple as that we were not prepared to offer him guaranteed first team football and he felt at his age (and with his historic injury issues) he wanted to be playing football every week. He could have stayed with us another year, really struggled and then found it hard to get another club.

Money? More guaranteed playing time? May have fallen out with Southend over something we don't know? Wanted a fresh challenge after being with us for 5 years? Many possible reasons.

He did also say that he had completed a target by getting us promoted, maybe he felt now was the best time to move on.

Sad to see him go, and will be a challenge to get enough strikers in. Hopefully we can get some in that will click otherwise could be a long season ahead!

Many thanks to BBBC for the past 5 years.

We on the other hand, now know where we stand and it is early June. Now over to the clubs management team to do their summer job and get us a replacement not to the same, but better than BBBC and improve the squad. We have to now look to the future, but thanks again for the memories Baz.

When else would he take a holiday? Pretty much everyone involved in football will be away at someone point in early June.

if one of his primary roles is to offer/negotiate contracts, then how about september after the transfer window has shut and before the loan window opens again, or perhaps november some time when not a lot of transfer activity is taking place.

most importantly, players who are at all unsure about their future probably wont be on holiday, and if you were to find out that the man you are negotiating with has gone on holiday at the most important time of the season for you and 100's of other players it makes you wonder about the club?

Brown better get Adam Barrett signed up pretty ****ing quickly. I won't cope with losing both of them in the same summer.

We offered him a two year deal

Amazed he would choose Cambridge, I cant imagine that they would offer any more, and its still League Two.

Thanks for 5 years Bazza. What a way to sign off. Would rather have you in our team than play against you, lets hope for one reason or another we are not in the same league as Cambridge next season

I feel sick...

Same here.. My favourite promotion photo was of Corr and Brown in the dressing room emptying bottles of beer into the trophy... now ruined.

I can't get my head around it at the moment... I am truly gutted

Good Luck and Thanks for the memories BBBC
