In other news, Espanyol lost away to Valencia (1-2) on Saturday, despite taking the lead.

We were in Cebazan for the weekend (even missed Montpellier v Toulouse on Saturday night).

Happy.:winking:

Is that right?

Because I've been keeping half an ear out for Valencia's results because Gary Neville's appointment and whilst it was a team from Spain's second city they were playing the other week, I thought it was the other one and they won 6 or 7 nil.

Maybe that was the week before.

They being Valencia's opponents, obviously not Valencia as the thought of Valencia winning a match is pretty far fetched!

Imagine losing to them!

Ha! Don't follow Barça's results too closely (for obvious reasons) but I do have to admit that I saw the goals on the news last night.:'(

Not seen the goals from that Valencia game though.:smiles:

I would say Espanyol are due a win at the weekend at home to Deportivo but I don't think I'll tempt fate.

Depor looked decent against Betis on Saturday. Were it not for our keeper (Adán), they'd certainly have won.

Goalie saving team's hide in a 2-2 away draw; it reminded me of Dan Bentley at Coventry in August!

They really are the Col Ewe of La Liga aren't they?

The second team of that area, wear Tesco carrier bags for kit and are really ****.

Let me remind you that Espanyol got a fully deserved 0--0 draw against a full strength Barça side at Cornellà in their only Liga meeting (so far) this season, at the beginning of last month.

Unlike Col.Ewe,Espanyol aren't bottom of La Liga.In fact they're not even in the bottom 3...yet.:raspberry:

Also, according to their new Chinese President, Espanyol will be playing Champions League football in 3 season's time.:hilarious:

Great evening with Tangled up in Blue watching Espanyol grind out a deserved 1-0 win against Deportivo with a packed ground. Great atmosphere and could easily have been 3/4 if any Espanyol players found their shooting boots. Valuable 3 points which puts them 4 points clear of the relegation zone with 13 games to play.

Atletico Madrid vs Villarreal is certainly the best game this weekend on paper, one to watch tomorrow night.

Watched Barcelona v. Sevilla last night.

Thought Sevilla were worth a point. Looked a handy side.

They're a decent side - was astonished when I read that they are the only side in La Liga still to win away from home this season!

Betis' rank home form continues to worry me; only four points above safety currently and a BIG away game this weekend against some fellow strugglers...

Big match is on Thursday night ie Espanyol v Betis.

Since it's live on the box (and an 8.30 pm KO) plus I'm working until 8, think I'll settle for watching it in my lounge rather than in Cornellà.

Ah, excellent. Live over here too so that's Thursday evening sorted!
