Breaking News Released and retained players

Interesting use of words on the OS about Ben Coker

"Coker, who informed the club of his decision to leave at the end of his contract"

It sounds like he had already decided to go - maybe there is actually a decent offer on the table from Lincoln?

No great surprises really. Coker unfortunately, clearly didn't want to stay. I hope he doesn't regret not agreeing a new deal last year. I wonder whether any players will be made available for transfer ?

That's a little misleading. As I understood it, Coker rejected a new deal about a year ago and it was then he informed the powers that be that he would see out his contract.

Appreciate all his efforts. One of the most underrated moments from the day at Wembley was his superb last ditch challenge to deny Wycombe a certain second goal

I think whichever way it went and whoever chose to end the relationship of Ben Coker and Southend Utd, it was probably time for a parting of ways. Coker was great here and wish him all the best on recovery and hope he can get back to his best.

Bit gutted about Coker, I think it’s going to be very hard to find someone as good as, or better, to replace him!

No real surprises there except maybe the loss of 2 keepers, it'll probably be the end of turners career and as for Coker we will have to wait and see however the last two seasons have potentially de-railed his career quite badly.

I wonder whether we will go for Hart on a year's loan. With Hendrie and Coker off we are light there, and Demi isn't the answer.

Is Bolger really waving a flag with his own name on it? How have I never noticed that before...
