Beaches - I've got sympathy for these people branded morons, selfish etc. If you live in a council flat in London in the boiling heat after being locked down for 3 months, of course you're going to want to go to the beach. No pubs or restaurants are open and no one is on holiday at the moment so the demand for beaches in 30 degree heat is of course going to be enormous. I think the Government should now shut the main beaches down during heatwaves in the next few months because it's got out of control and is dangerous, but I don't blame people for wanting to go.

With the pubs I'm gagging for a pint down the pub but I think it will be chaos on Saturday so might go on a Monday or wait a week or something. Think what Old Leigh will be like Saturday, absolute carnage definitely going to avoid that area.

Pubs. Working in the trade, there is a lot of concern that Saturday was the wrong day to open. We are leaving opening till Monday 13th July in Billericay. If you are planning a visit to the pub , I know a lot are not opening on that Saturday. So check before you go. Most are closing before 10p.m. What rumour is going round is that Weteherpoons plan to open at 8 a.m. on Saturday 4th July. Unbelivable we need a 14/15 hour drinking day, after 3 months closed. Most non spoons pubs will have table service only, and a few I know a limited time either open or you are allowed to stay at the pub. Yes I am going to the pub with the missus that day, but I am away in Caister/ Great Yarmouth, so should be a little more space. Yes I do have contact's to get a decent pint of local real ale sitting outside a pub.

My local is not opening on 4 July - too small for social distancing. My other ` locals` in Falmouth are also not opening - but all are continuing with takeaways

I see that Greece is not allowing any UK flights till at least 15th July and they may even extend that date

Doesn’t surprise me at all, with our numbers I don’t see how any country would allow UK flights in.

Despite the fact Florida is having a surge in new positive cases in many parts, they still dont want us going there yet.
Virgin announced few weeks ago, they were resuming flights to Miami & Orlando on July 20th.
Last week, this was put back to Aug 20th & 24th respectively.
Flights to NY are still ontrack from 20th July with Delta from Heathrow. I've got flights booked end of Sept, fingers x it will happen.

I don’t want to **** on your chips mate, but I think America could be in for a bit of a shock.

Vegas is taking a bit of a hit over the last week or so, with their rate of infection increasing steadily again.

Govenor Sisolak only made it mandatory to wear face coverings in public, a few days ago.

Half the strip’s Casino’s have reopened, and the ones that were scheduled to reopen in the coming days, are now being put on hold for the time being.

At least one restaurant has been forced to close again, due to an outbreak of covid amoung staff, and now the unions are getting involved and threatening to have their members go on strike.

It would appear that the feeling over there, (in Vegas at least) is that a second wave is imminent.

Fingers crossed for all of us, that it doesn’t happen

America are in real trouble. Workers have always been treated poorly in the US with very few rights but they are now being forced to put their lives at risk just to survive.

It is going to turn very ugly.

I don’t know if it’s factual, but there seems to be rumours flying around that one of the most expensive Vegas resorts - The Cosmopolitan - is giving it’s workers a choice; come to work, or get fired. That is despite there being an outbreak in that hotel where - again, rumours - nearly 50 staff have tested positive for the virus.

That if true, is the very embodiment of risking your life to survive.

And if course, with the unemployment figure steadily climbing up towards the 50 million mark, it’s not a case of simply quitting and finding another job so easily, especially if you’re considered to be part of the low-skilled workforce.

It’s even tougher in Vegas, when you consider that most of the hotel/resorts out there are all owned by just a few companies. MGM Resorts & Caesar’s Entertainment own the majority of the properties on the strip. So if you quit at one of theirs, you instantly get blackballed from the rest.

Edit: Although the good news is, the strip clubs are open again. Everyone - strippers included - has to wear a mask. ‘Murica

It would seem that not only do we have to live with COVID-19 which, I fear we may have a surge of come the winter months when we all return indoors with closed windows we now have to contend with more aggressive Swine Flu this year.
By all accounts it is in China at the moment and is causing some concerns.
I fear this may be a hard winter

If we had the truth told then perhaps people would take note
How can Leicester be on lock down , yet football takes place on Saturday
Another 155 related deaths, still far too high despite it coming down

Let’s do testing in London and still how quickly it’s rises, but because it’s a financial centre no one dares to lock it down again
Peoples lives are worthless in comparison to finances so it seems, unless of course it’s your family who have suffered a lost

These clowns who will go on raves and the **** up are probably the same who did the 2 minute clap and applauded Capt Tom, what a waste of time it now seems, when it all goes off again

Bloody China AGAIN! Seriously, is it the wet markets?

Considering what? That the media have hyped up the British public into a frenzy again.

4 people in the UK have died due to Corona virus and they were possibly ill with a low immune system in the first place. 4 people out of some 60 odd million

1000's die of Cancer, malnutrition, Influenza and other viral infections every day. I'm not concerned with Corona Virus in the slightest

Just read through the first 11 pages on this thread from late Feb / early March. Obviously hindsight is 20-20 but this one post did stand out as particularly wide of the mark.
