Post-Match Thread and Ratings Chesterfield 2-2 Southend United

Great point against one of the top teams. We were on top for long periods of the game and missed several chances to win it.

Over the 90mins IMO we were by far the better team.

The run goes on. 12 unbeaten now.

Grimsby Tuesday night next,

Fantastic support again from the 800 travelling Blues fans.

Over to you guys,

On current form, we are one of the top teams ????

Today, I think was a massive plus for the mind set of the team both on and off the pitch. Going by the comments it looks like we didn’t really set our stall out right at the start but at half time we dealt with the issues which was obviously noticeable second half.

Chesterfield will be gutted having scored late and then conceding at the death but I wouldn’t say that’s down to them but more about us not giving up and pressing to the final whistle.

Everything comes to those that wait.

Blue army ?????

We‘re a different team to 3 months ago.

Arnold, 7
Hobson, 7
Lopata, 8
Kensdale, 6
Davies, 6
Neal, 7
Atkinson, 8
Ralph, 7
Dalby, 7
Dennis, 7

You could up all those scores by a point if you weren’t a stingy marker like me!

Jack Bridge looks like he’s worth more minutes. Dennis remains a key player for me - properly scares the opposition when we can get him in the game.

A deserved point today. Shame we didn't get the win. But 3 draws on the bounce is 6 points dropped sadly.
Need to get back to winning ways.
Confidence must be high.

Sorry can't seem to copy and put up our equalizing own goal video;

just go to facebook , and national league to view it

Our biggest danger now is losing the management team!
Not sure why this is so bought into as our biggest worry.

Clearly it's the management team who are the package. You pick off Currie or Bentley, you're still missing the rest of the team. How many individuals in management teams have been successful without the rest? I can't think of many, if any.

If Currie, for example, gets a nice offer from a NLS/N, NL or even L2 team in the off season, good luck to him if he takes it. But the relative success we're seeing right is down to the collective of the management team. Clubs who can afford to bring in a team at our level or higher should see that and understand what it is for what it is and bring in the team as a whole, if they can.

I don't want to come across as too complacent, but if the management team are doing well as a unit here, it would have to take a very decent offer to tempt them away, otherwise.

Anyway, being at sixes and sevens in the first half was more than made up for in the second half. Both teams deserve a 6/10 overall today. Atkinson did very well for 60 minutes but Powell also did very well when he came on. If that's the last we see of Dennis for a while (or maybe, even, the whole season) that was a poor game to see him off from but good luck to him for his future endeavours.
