He stepped back in from an offside position, which a picture will not show. It was marginal but if the lino pulled his head out his **** then he would have spotted it and flagged it, no controversy then. Poor officiating isn't strong enough to describe it.Apparently this was offside
Agreed it was marginal and in hindsight probably the correct decision but why he never flagged is the baffling part and they got a player booked for shouting at himHe stepped back in from an offside position. The decision should have stood, even if incorrect. Too much time had passed.Agreed it was marginal and in hindsight probably the correct decision but why he never flagged is the baffling part and they got a player booked for shouting at him
But then bizarrely they decide to change their mind , the ref was weak
Exactly that. From where I was in the south upper, Hyde looked offside. Looked straight across to the Lino who kept his flag down and started going back to the halfway line. Ref was indicating a goal and it was only when Wrexham complained that it became an issue.Does that matter though? Neither the lino or the ref saw or gave it.
They caved in under pressure from the Wrexham players. How can they change their decision on something neither of them saw?
Mooney is classHyde came back from an offside position but it was marginal at best , I was bang inline with it and looked over to the Lino who did not flag .
A nervy first 15 minutes where we showed them too much respect but after that we were the better side , Mooney the best player on the park, if I was their owners I’d send Dalby back and get the cheque book out for him
Note to Wrexhams 2 centre half’s who made world class last ditch touches to deny us a goal .
Likes the look of Wreh and for me he has the edge over Hyde and should get a run of games
This doesn't show anything considering offside is based on when the pass is made, not half a second after the shot.Apparently this was offsideView attachment 22154
It was disallowed for offside which the Lino did not signal until after the event and when Wrexham's players tore him a new one. It seems, under current rules, a lino will not signal for offside until after the move has finished. I may have misunderstood that explanation, but I think it's what Paul Clark and then Maher said on the radio. Even so the lino in front of the West was probably the most hated man in the Kingdom for a period of time.Dakkers may have handled the ball. Need to see the highlights.
