Breaking News St Johns Ambulance Ends Agreement Over Debt

The club surely cannot sink any lower.

What is that line from TL in the statement. Maybe a slip of the tongue or printed wrongly but isn't "Wanted" past tense?

He said the club wanted to move into a new stadium at Fossetts Farm, on the outskirts of the city centre, to help plug the gap in its finances.

Not necessarily, You need to have first aid cover not it needs to be provided by x organisation. The club may have the required number of bodies in the building, stewards, back office staff etc that have the relevant qualification (First Aid at Work Qualification)

If thats the case, then they don't need to utilise the services of the St Johns Ambulance although pay them for work completed, even if sometimes they show a real lack of care. A few games back (November / December ish time) someone fell over leaving the East Stand Red entrance and requests were being made for the first aiders to come up to assist. A tall St Johns ambulance worker was saying, thats not his responsibility, get a steward to assist.
Would these be the same staff not yet paid?

Geezer is a rat, can’t even pay a charity and people still genuinely believe he’ll find the money to pay off the debt lol
Sigh... 2 different things isnt it. He hasnt got the money NOW... the debt is hoping to be paid off by a loan arriving sometime in the next few weeks.

The man is a cretin, I get that, but its tiresome just bashing for bashing sakes. Stick to the facts of the matter right now.

My feelings on this at present and what Stan has posted somewhere ,Yes i do believe RM is winging it at present in hope of getting a bridging loan , but i also believe in the next few he will come to realise if its not going to happen days ,then he will come to an agreement to sort a deal out with investors to sell the club in a manner that wont effect his own outcome to badly. I also believe SVC will have had a hand in finding these investors and god willing save the club we all love so much. If this does come about i hope also SVC gets to have a bigger say in the running of the club in the future, as im sure he can be a major help help to the investors if they are not to familiar with this club or the running off a football club . Anyway thats my take on this, im now beginning to understand all the negative comments by supporters more ,they are showing their way of the love and care they have for this club in the only way they can . RM do the right thing by the supporters the club and the backroom staff and players, in the end you will also be doing the right thing by your family .

If it is this bad now, how much worse will it be in the summer months with little or no income other than maybe season ticket sales.
Be lucky if we are still going in March let alone the summer lol

In all seriousness, there must be someone out there in a position to pay this bill? I know none of us should have to think about doing so but we are where we are.
Couldn't agree more. A gesture to pay off some of this debt to a charity from someone within the club surely. We know about our esteemed Chairman's scruples, but I am saddened if one of our monied Board members cant make a donation. I don't like to point fingers as they might be helping anyway behind the scenes, but when you are not privy to anything apart from the stark headlines, its difficult to not speculate.

Rather than paying St John's Ambulance to cover SUFC games, we could use that money to cover their presence at a new phoenix club. Just saying...

The below is taken from the FA National League ground grading guide.

4. MEDICAL
There must be a suitably equipped medical treatment room for players located in the vicinity of the players' dressing rooms. Access to this room must not be via the home or away dressing rooms.
There must be a suitably equipped and designated First Aid Room for spectators within the boundary of the ground fitted out with services in accordance with Health & Safety requirements. The designated room must contain a bed or comfortable seating, with cold and, ideally, hot water, together with paper towels. Reusable individual towels are not permitted.
The first aid room and the location of the room must be suitably sign posted.
At least one stretcher for the removal of injured players from the field of play must be provided. (See also Appendix)

Appendix

4. MEDICAL
There must be a nominated and suitably qualified person in attendance to assist with spectator problems unless the St John Ambulance Brigade, Red Cross Society or other capable agency are in attendance. The requirements of the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds are for one first aider per 1000 anticipated spectators, with a minimum of two.
If a crowd of less than 2000 is anticipated, known and practiced arrangements should be in place to summon either a doctor or NHS ambulance alternative. For crowds of over 2000, an experienced crowd doctor should be in attendance.
