Post-Match Thread and Ratings AFC Fylde 0-2 Southend United

3 more points on the board, that’s all we can do at this stage. I know the others still have games in hand and it’s highly unlikely that all the results will go our way in this race for the playoffs but I’d much rather have the points on the board over games in hand. Either way, to be this close at this stage of the season is testament to the terrific job Kev and his staff and the players have all done this season where so much has gone against them off the field. This season was all about building for next season anyway and right here, right now I’d say we are in a great place to add a few more in the summer and we’ll be right there challenging for automatic promotion next year.

Well done Shrimpers, keeping us on the edge of our seats until the very last game. Unlikely we'll go into the play offs, but it'll be squeaky bum bum time for those teams around us, so you never know.
Just looking at those teams around us and it makes you realise just how fragile membership of the EFL can be. Halifax, Southend, Aldershot, Oldham and Rochdale were all once solid EFL teams.
Takeover delays apart, we should be in a good position for next year, but doesn't it make you realise we've really dodged a bullet this season? One day we'll look back at 23/24 and just say "blimey".

Good to hear on BBC Essex King Kev praising the fans at the end ... say they best fans in the country.

Hoping for a full house last home game next Saturday :-)

Roll up Roll up Fellow Shrimpers lets get down Roots Hall

Whatever, the out come this season, this team can produced miracle's this season IMHO
don’t forget 12.15 KO

I know a few results need to work but if BW can hold on, Aldershot and Halifax on terrible runs and Halifax have three games to play in a week. It’s how you’d dream that games in hand for the opposition would look.

If only……………..we would have been up there in automatic play off spot

Well done lads and all the supporters that travelled all that way.
I was able to watch the game and listen to Wakering at the same time as Apes was providing the commentary
