Wembley tickets

Now on BBC - seems TFL position is clear - so must be the Met Police and/or local council restricting numbers??????

This is absolutley flipping ridiculous - i have just read it on the site although it is not the clubs fault but how can they deny people this opportunity

How about fans willing to walk???

The tube line that's closed, I think its around 2 miles from Wembley where they stop running, around a 40 min walk - whilst I accept some fans won't be able to do that, many could and would - then that could free up capacity at the closer stations.

This is ridiculous - just let fans make their way to the stadium by whatever means.

Doing the rounds on WhatsApp, has anyone else heard this story?

“Right. Straight up facts from the club, they’ve just emailed after I asked what the delay was.

DAZN and the national league are furious that the semi was ruined by the pitch invasion and Gus was almost seriously injured, thus damaging their product and the perception of the league.

For this reason, the NL asked Wembley to reduce our allocation to 17.5k, but the club have said that’s outrageous and unfair, pointing out Oldham fans were on the pitch at York too. So the NL said fine, we’ll apply the same to Oldham.

Now the club are panicking as they know we could potentially sell twice that number and have agreed with the league and the FA they will identify everyone on the pitch and ban them from the final.

Only once they’ve given over all the names and proved the fans on the pitch will not get a ticket, will the NL and Wembley and DAZN agree a higher allocation.

The police are helping pore over the footage and it’s understandably taking time.

Frustrating for everyone, but it’s been ruined by those who couldn’t contain their excitement and heed the warnings clearly issued during the game.”
Well if that were true as a reason then frankly it’s those in charge at the NL and DAZN who should be banned- what the club served up did precisely the opposite showcasing the NL and DAZN, and providing a fantastic story and great media coverage.

Even allowing for how incompetent the NL are I think the likelihood of this story being true is near zero.

I have a cunning plan - could buy a ticket including travel on coach - doesn't mean you have to get on the coach (unless they'll hand out the match ticket on the coach)

So the club could just have many thousands of 'coaches'

So who will get priority ??? Surely a STH making his own way to Wembley would get priority over somebody who is getting a coach to see SUFC for the first time in their life
Totally - would seem unfair that those of us that hold ST or go to regular games will be second choice over someone who decides to go to one game
Wembley holds enough for all that want to go

Imagine priority for now will be season ticket holders->Rochdale/FGR/Gateshead away attendees->general sale.

The question will be whether seasos will be allowed to purchase more than one ticket in this (hopefully) initial batch of 17,500.

If I'm reading that right it looks like it'll be coach and match tickets sold as a package, that's a joke.

Us Exiles look set to miss out
I read it as 17,500 'normal' tickets plus as many coach+ticket combos as there is demand for.

Are people serious? It HAS to be Wembley. The Millennium stadium just didn’t have the same gravitas, neither would Spurs, Arsenal or West Ham’s stadiums. No thank you!
Agree but if, as surely must be unlikely, it was a choice between a 20% full Wembley and a packed Spurs or Arsenal stadium? Atmosphere in the latter verses the former??
TBH any restrictions or venue change would be such PR disaster for the administrators I think they will find a solution. If they don’t then both clubs should be very loudly and publicly demanding compensation.

That's because the concern is around the number of people arriving at a single Wembley station. Going by coach means they can increase the 17,500 allocation

Did you know that the word gullible isn't in the dictionary? ;)
