Even Bim .. I just don’t generally think going back is wise. Happy to be proved wrong but it rarely works out.

Be nice for us to announce something today. Retain list, pre season fixtures, signing etc.

Should be getting the retained list but wouldn't expect anything else for a week or two

I doubt that we'll be announcing any signings for a while, we don't have a war chest available to sign anyone on a high wage. Come the end of this month there will be a fair pool of players to choose from after the better ones have been bought by York, Carlisle, FGR etc. Our future depends on successful loanees I reckon.

No need to despair though, our squad is strong and in Leon we have a great player in the making. Fourth place beckons......

The obvious answer is that those other teams (Oldham apart) didn't finish their seasons five days ago.

The retained list really won't be that exciting anyway; we're really just waiting on whether Bonne is retained as I don't think anyone expects Waldron or Wood to stay.

Signings will arrive in due course; I'm sure plenty of work has already been done and continues to be done behind the scenes.

I wouldn't worry about a retained list - I doubt an absence of one means we aren't doing anything or are undecided on who we're keeping/letting go

I wouldn't be concerned about a lack of signings yet. If we get to August 1st and we're still no closer then you can start worrying.

Defo done well at Wealdstone last term on loan, but again wages come into play, believe he was on c3k a week at Oldham, someone will pay it but not us.

Encapsulates the challenge quite nicely- Oldhams 5th choice striker who was loaned to Wealdstone out of reach…if indeed the case..
