Singh

Gah, the video wont play!

Sometimes the virgin highlights take a long time to load up - be patient. Else there is also a help page on the virgin football site if you're still having problems.

IMHO the video evidence Virgin show is inconclusive. Perhaps a slightly harsh red but seen much worse decisions.

Perhaps stick to what is conclusive.

Moussa comes away with the ball under control.

He played the ball.

The opposing player turned into the tackle [late] and feigned injury.

Moussa doesn't. The ball goes to the Brighton 8, who for some reason stops. Maybe he heard the whistle, may be he saw the horror of the tackle. Moussa then takes the ball from him.

You cannot tell, as I cannot tell, from that video if the ball was played because the Brighton player is in the way.

The Brighton player wasn't late and there is no way from that video you can tell if he is feigning or not. I suggest he isn't because he is still. Generally players that are hurt don't roll around.

So let us take your advice and look at what is conclusive.

Nothing.

Am i right to take it that it is upto the club/player to prove that it wasnt a red card offence rather than up to the ref to prove that it was. If that is the case, than we wont win the appeal imo as you cant prove from the images that it wasnt a red card

Yes let's do that. The player did not require treatment.

After the red had been showed he got up and miracurously walked [Lazurus like] after appearing to be dead by the lack of movement you describe.

A miracle happended at RH that evening and it was not Singh making a correct decision.

No he DID NOT end off ,
How you could see from the south stand upper is beyond me when i was sitting west stand near halfway libne and still could not see it clearly

If you can't see the centre-circle from near the halfway line in the West Stand then I suggest you take a trip to the opticians.

From were i was sitting Moussa went in with one foot and won the ball cleanly.

Virgo went in with two feet with the intention of hurting Moussa and ended up hurting himself, The only reason Moussa was red carded was because he got straight up after the tackle but that could just be in-experience, If both players had stayed down i think at most they would have both recieved a booking.

Regret you cold be right - honesty is certainly not the best policy, when you have officials of the calibre of Mr Singh on the pitch.

You see that man running onto the pitch holding a bag. That's the Brighton trainer.

No he didn't, he stayed on the deck. He is the man who has curled up after being whacked by Moussa. Shame the camera pans away, so we can't tell how long he was down for.

Are you sure you are watching the same video?

Well as far as is known he does not feature in the obituaries.

I saw him lazarus like get up and walk away live on the night, yet you claim that laying still on the ground is indicative of being seriously injured. Suspect players are a little more clever at feigning injury than you, as a former referee give them credit for.

Don't recall if he was substituted later on but suspect he played all 90 mins, running round like a spring chicken.

I could tell you he was down long enough for Moussa to walk off the pitch. As soon as he was gone, he was up and was fine.

Lord football - Are you a Brighton Fan?

Why does it matter if the Brighton player was feigning injury or not? Surely the referee should be going by the severity of the tackle, not the outcome

As with Lord Football; the FA will back their referees to the hilt and it would be interesting to know what Singh himself may say, now that the dust has settled and he can review the video evidence for himself.

His preparedness to admit an error of his instaneous judgment or a retraction, may hold the key. Doubt it will happen though as remain convinced he has a downer on us due to pre-conceived assumptions that our opponents need his protection.

"I'm out to get you. Mwah ha ha ha!"

I don't think so. From memory I think Smith only received one red card whilst with us and that was in the legendary 3-2 win over Swansea with only eight men. Singh definitely didn't ref that one.
