Sad news

I fell it would only be right to have a Broadway Grill Kebab this weekend to pay my respects...

Broadway Grill - the kebab-shop of kings!

Up there with Ali Baba's surely.

Anyone heard that the Tandoori Parlour in Thundersley bought the shop next door to them (Estate Agents that closed down) - and have turned it into a Fish and Chip shop? Very nice it is too. They have a door that connects them both. Watch out Thundersley - domination of the villiage begins.

yep Ali Baba's is excellent too. Generally however I've found Southend/Leigh to be very poor for fast food/kebabs.

Does anyone remember the Kebab shop along the London Road which I think was called 'Istanbul'. I was quite young when we used to go there but I suspect it was kind of near the parade of shops where Paul Robinson Solicitors is. It had a resturaunt / cafe as part of it but served Kebabs at the front.

Used to serve great massive kebabs, as well as those sticky syrupy flakey nutey dessert things (Baclava?). God Im hungry now!

I just ate 2 Pepperami in a showing of what can only be described as 'solidarity'

I have made Baklava! Very fiddly but worth the effort. Perfect with decent vanilla ice cream. Yay!

I wonder if Best Mangal in North End Road will have a special offer on now.

I really think a public outpouring of chili sauce is the only option here.

Wouldn't put vanilla ice cream on mine.
