The only must is another CB, apart from that I'd be pretty happy with the current squad going into the season.
...must be easily pleased.....that lot yesterday won't make play offs

That's more likely that I didn't fancy meeting up with you down a dark alley :winking:. It wouldn't have been a threat to you, more of a 'we have nothing in common, why would we wanna meet face to face'. Was it a PM or a post on here? I'd love to see it so I can understand what I actually put and in what context. Anyway off topic.

I think we just need to be patient and trust in Brown. If we were struggling under an embargo, we wouldn't have got Weston or been able to sign Barnard.

Not wishing to split hairs but any embargo, if indeed there is one, could have been levied following those two signings. As many have been quick to point out to me, the signing of a couple of players doesn't necessarily imply that we aren't under an embargo. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't change much.................all we can do is wait until we see the composition of the squad come the first match of the season. Regading an earlier post, I seem to remember Timlin's injury having quite an effect on our league performances post Leyton Orient JPT (2012-3). Is there really enough experience and creativity with Atkinson, Leonard, Payne, Clifford, Ellis Brown and Pinnock???..........I presume Hurst(winger), Weston (winger/striker) don't count.

We won't play anything like the same side we have put out during any of the pre-season games so far, even a novice would work that out. A lot of the trialists have been very poor too.

If PB can sign Worrall, Hoyte and Fagan, then put Cort on a pay as you play deal (if he's still got the legs) I would be very happy with the squad, and would be confident of a decent promotion push. I'm sure PB can rustle up a capable CB on loan for a few months until Cort is up to speed.

I could warm to this, but I'm not sure we would have the financial means to put those three on contracts.

I agree it's unlikely but I think Fagan and Cort will be with us for the season. I don't understand my logic for that statement, just a feeling in my water!!

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, even well watered ones. :winking: We certainly need a central defender but whether Cort is the answer, we shall no doubt soon see. As far as Fagan is concerned, do we really need him if Worrell signs???

Well, I'm 50% wrong already. If Fagan goes as well it proves I know sod all!

Chris Phillips said on twitter that he's retiring, and that Cort said he's glad his last ever game was in a Blues shirt.

That's a nice touch by Cort. Does beg the question as to why he had a trial if he was retiring?
