He hasn't been released. He has been told he can find another club but he still has another year on his contract and won't be leaving unless that gets paid up. He'll never get another contract like this one again.

just looked at his Goal Scoring record recently and his date of birth (no idea he was the same age as Eastwood) , looks league 1 standard at the very best , if we can sort money and wages for him , league 2 might be his level now

Exactly. It's such a large amount of money that no one could blame him for sitting at home with his Playboy model wife instead of playing football. But Southampton loaned him out most of last season so I'm sure he'll get game time somewhere this year as well.

Looks like he'll definitely go out on a season long loan, probably to the club that agrees to pay the largest portion of his wages to Southampton and provided he's happy to move there.
