A Question(s)

I think there are very few, Barrett included, who wouldn't move elsewhere if told they had to take a paycut but another club was willing to take them on on the same money.

If not, the administrators could always hire ldnfatso to botty-love players out of the club.

That's a bit harsh.

Players can be loaned with a view to a permanent move as soon as the transfer window is open again.

You'll remember we did something similar with JCR, although we found a way out of completing the deal to buy him from his parent club who were desperately in need of cash and on the verge of going into administration. We then completed a cut price deal for him in the summer.

Yes, I recalled this. I hope it isn't a case of what goes around comes around.

Heaven knows what sort of mess we'd have been in if Gower had stayed!;)

You can thank me later!

Yes, we've found out the hard way that championship football can be devastatingly expensive. It's a good job you drove Gower out of the club, so we didn't have to go through it all again.

Edit: will have to thank you later as I have to share out rep before I can neg rep you again.

Don't know whether this has been covered before......I did mention it in one post but didn't follow it through.
If we go into administration I am assuming that the first task will be to recover the 690K or so owed to the HMCR. Regarding the rest of the monnies owed i.e. if rumours are to be believed, about 1.4M.......would we be able to negotiate payment of that under the new softer approach towards football clubs from the HMCR? Or would we be obliged to cough up the lot before we were allowed to move out of administration?

The first task wouldn't necessarily be to pay off the £690k as HMRC don't have any more of a claim to that than the other creditors do to their money. However, once that debt is paid off there's no reason that I can think think of as to why HMRC would oppose the CVA that we'd require to come out of Administration without a further points deduction so long as ew don't take the **** with the CVA agreement (ie if we were to try to get a CVA saying that we'd pay 10p in the pound then they'd probably try to block it but if we say we'll pay them in full then I don't see why they'd block it).

IF we go into administration would the supporters, through, eg Shrimpers Trust, have any rights to be in consultation with the administrator, to keep us informed about the on going situation?

I don't think we have any "rights" per se, although a Southampton fan who was on here the other day was saying that administrators generally do meet with the fans to let them know what is going on. The administrator's responsibility is to the business keeping it as a going concern so they are under no obligation to listen or observe the fans' requests though.
