I've just got a new iPod, but all my music is on my old battered laptop that can't connect to the internet, and can't read discs. When I put my ipod in the old laptop, it says I need a new version of iTunes, but obviously I can't connect to the internet to get it. My question is, is there anyway to get iTunes onto the old laptop so I can get all my music on the iPod? This makes no sense reading it back, but it's my birthday today so be nice.

I'd say if you can't connect to the net or read disks then you are screwed. Do you know anybody who's got an external CD drive, this might be one possible solution?
