Question Any Questions?

Ladies and Gentlemen, any questions you have about my involvement since summer, the club moving forward please fire away.

Stan.
I don't want anyone else involved with my beloved club who doesn't have Southend United in their ? as I stated in response to your previous posts any tiny amount of help / support you can offer that will turn this sinking ship around will always be gratefully recieved.

I was very opposed to PB's appointment and hope and ? RM doesn't appoint another aging has been who doesn't have SUFC running through their veins.

Please don't let RM drive you away this time, work with TL and help us.

1. Identify how the team and club want to play
2. Have the best recruitment and scouting to ensure the type of player is watched and recruited.
3. Manager is employed on the basis of being able to play the way THE CLUB wants to play.
4. You then get managers who suit the club, every time.

You're right, some big names, some good managers.

But...

If manager A is long Ball, manager B is get it down and play, manager C is a "character and desire" man, manager D is all about technical play then teams are put out that are a little bit of all of them and teams which are undefined in their aim.

Southend United, the team have an undefined way of playing. If you don't believe me then I'll ask you these questions.

1. How many systems have been played in the last 5 years?

2. Can anyone tell me what the team is trying to achieve tactically on the pitch?

Design the template.
Stick to the template
The template pays you back every year.

It's painfully simple.

Yep, that's how Webby and Tilly set up. Pick your system and recruit the players to work within that system to get the best out of it.

Both played in a similar way, but without fear of the opposition.

Have you spoken to anyone outside of the club regarding the future of the club?

You mentioned two recruitment specialists on your phone in to BBC Essex. Are these first team player recruitment specialists? Are they still available?
Many people. Some of the best recruitment, scouting, financial and footballing people in the English game.

I don't offer something I can't deliver. Especially at Southend United which I'm struggling to comprehend why anyone would think I wouldn't want to step in and help.

I loved my time at the club! Loved!

I so hope this works and you are finally listened to ? personally I would love to see Tilly involved in some way, we only want people who care about SUFC involved if we have any chance of getting out of this embarrassing mess.

Thank you Stan

Hi Stan it’s great to have you back and hopefully helping us out of this mess. My question is why did you feel unable to get involved with the original offer in summer (Ron moved the goalposts?) and what confidence do you have that the same thing won’t happen again if an offer was to be extended?

I bought Shares in SUFC some time ago - how many shares are not owned by Ron and what influence can we have? Has there ever been an AGM? if one person got hold of all these shares what are the consequences, seat on the board?

Yes, I've attended one.

There's usually important questions answered like what colour shirt are we wearing next season or why isn't some youth team player involved more.

Do you agree with Ron’s recent assertion that the club’s conduct in recent years - not paying players on time, transfer embargoes etc - has not hindered player recruitment?

If not, how would you/your team specifically improve the club’s image within the wider football community?

Hi Stan, this result has in my mind helped rather than hindered as we have finally cut ties with the management. I fear a draw or 1-0 loss would have seen Phil stay on. I think it is very important that we have a manager that knows the level, I wonder if this is taken into account in your shortlist? Oh and thank you for what you have done so far, you have given our plight viability we could not have achieved without you

Stan Very much welcome your input.Who ever comes in to manage us will still have the same players at his or her disposal. In your opinion do you think someone else can get a better performance especially our aging midfield that are still under contract and cant easily moved on

I was offered Head of Football Operations.

This had a specific remit. That remit was changed at the 11th hour, arbitrarily. I don't do business in that way.

I am incredibly wary of, to be frank, being messed around and giving the club my time and goodwill with little commitment coming the other way.

But I can't stand by and watch this continue so I'm worried less about what I can't do for now and concentrating on what I can do. And that's accelerate help and assistance to the club across the football department.

Think that’s a great point @Ricky Otto obviously with respect @StanleyVictorCollymore you’ve thankfully never been down to this level, but does your network of contacts reach down the far to get the right person and not just a “name”.

I look at Salford and all the years of top flight and international experience their owners have and they are struggling to get it right.

for what it’s worth I LOVE your philosophy and absolutely the right way to go for the modern game (“dna” etc).

Hi Stan,

Thanks for your involvement. Are you able to provide more details on the remit? Do you believe what was agreed, and subsequently changed, was done so as a result of input from those then involved in the management of the first team?

Do you think the role as originally offered might be back on the table?

I'm already on it. I'm actively talking to people every day in order to get Ron and Tom and you guys every weapon in the armoury to succeed.

Including goodwill calls, gauging how the club is viewed and building communication and alliances.

I haven't stopped!

You’re absolutely right that we have no style of play or identity. The team has no passers, no pace, no defensive tightness, it only has the trickery of Jack Bridge

What template/style are you looking to propose?

ps Thank you. After feeling so dead during the game I’m now feeling alive with possibility.

If I'd have been involved ( truthfully, Ron and I get on very well, but he thinks I'm a maverick, and he's right. But a maverick with the best contacts book in the sport who will clear away the stench of failure from a club I hold dear. Don't be afraid of a maverick, be afraid of the status quo, a losers mentality and people in it for themselves), Southend United woukd get

1. First dibs on U-23 players from around the country. I took the liberty of contacting Liverpool,, Forest, Barry Fry, Leicester amongst 30 other clubs. Every one of those clubs said they wanted to work with me where they could. I hope that gives the tiniest flavour of what I can bring.

2. Employees with integrity. A United club.

3. Working with players ( where a manager feels it's appropriate), especially forwards, to show them the tricks of the trade, tell them how good they are and have me available 24/7 to help them along.

4. Meeting parents of quality young Essex talent and telling them Southend United is the club where their son can see a pathway to the pro game. Stan Collymore turning up at a kid's home has gravitas. Real gravitas.

5. Meeting and communicating with supporters regularly. Showing them the work we are doing and why that should make them content with the direction of the club.

6. Creating a clear club wide strategy that is simple, cost effective, promotes talent from within and spreads our net wide to bring the best talent in ( coaching, development, financial, directors) to a progressive football club.

7. Travelling with the team everywhere to support the manager, travelling staff and players, an identifiable totem of SUCCESS at Southend United.

8. Having an up to date managerial hit list that fits in with our ethos, values and playing style ( which we must have) in order to be proactive in coaching and management employment, not reactive. This alone will get us great coaches and managers way ahead of the opposition.
Amongst about 50 other tangible things that can be done yesterday if given the remit.
This is the most uplifting post I have read on here in years.

Stan, I have been supporting since 1969. I am now 60 and despite everything am just wanting this debacle to stop.

Prior to a couple of seasons back, Roots Hall had been a fortress. Teams didn't like coming here. Sure, we had the odd bad season, but in our entire history, we had never lost a competitive home match by more than 4 goals.

How many pro clubs can boast that record?

Then came the Kevin Bond era and after his sacking, we got dubbed 7-1 at home by Doncaster. Sure, we had 10 men since the 5th minute and had another sent off near the end. But Roots Hall is no longer the fortress it was.

The fans (today aside) have been supportive and excellent... we desperately need something to change.

So much hope hangs on your words. I just pray that you can deliver.

@StanleyVictorCollymore can you please investigate what the situation is with Elvis Bwomono?

The lad always played for the badge. He’d be a huge asset in our crumbling defence and tbh he deserves better than being left in limbo. His agent is the main problem I understand, the club need to re-engage and try to broker a deal.

Think this was covered by others, he’s not left in limbo. He has made the decision to not enter talks with the club, that’s that I believe.

They are waiting to help. Best in the business at League 1 down.

One has watched 650 players this season already, both messaged me today with up to date targets.

One employed by several clubs to find players but I already have an agreement ( on paper) that if he were to work with me, we would get first dibs on his expertise.

Due diligence.
