With the climate summit going on in Glasgow this week there is naturally a lot of advice flying around how we can do our bit to save the planet. Today I see there are guidelines for football fans ;
Travel - Either walk or get the train to games (tick, I do both) - DO NOT FLY (which reminds me, has anyone see our Dutch fan club recently?)
Refreshments - Avoid Beef or chocolate (are our burgers actually made of beef though?). Delighted to see that beer is 'low impact'.
Tickets - Go paperless, the best method here is a digital ticket. Southend United are leading the way here by making it difficult to obtain ANY kind of ticket.
New Kit - Do not buy one, simple (fashion accounts for 10% of Greenhouse gas emissions from human activity). Or we could go down the same route as Whitehawk and make shirts from recycled plastic bottles.
Are you doing your bit Zoners?
