This is not a paid promotion before anybody says it, however hats off to Michelle who is the landlady of the Blue Boar for making such an effort decorating the pub in some super Southend memorabilia, really making the place feel like our home pub! It’s things like this that make match days what they are

So what's the long term plan? The Blue Boar in recent years has been a locals pub during the week, and then an away supporters pub on match days. With the Spread being the home supporters pub? Is some of that memorabilia from the Spread?

Yes, that's a disappointing selection from my perspective, lots of lager and few ales.

Yes, just the unknown IPA and maybe a good Guinness, a poor Guinness is almost as unwelcome as a fizzpop chemical lager.
The Pedigree in Shrimpers bar was good last night before game but post game Pedigree in "upstairs" East bar was poor, unclean pipes?

The memorabilia in the Spread was Alan and Michelle's when they had both pubs.
Boar is now a 'Home' pub, for the occasional game open to all, I believe.

Blue Boar really should be a home pub, after all it is where the club was founded...

Probably the slops from the Shrimpers bar.

Nothing wrong with fizz pop chemical lager btw. Goes with football like fish & chips or a horse and carriage.

What do they do these days? IIRC used to be some sort of rather ordinary IPA.
