Blues Monthly Subscription

Now maybe i'm missing something here, but when you take up a subscription you normally make a saving of some sort. The magazine owners are happy because of the guaranteed income, and the customer is happy because of the saving made. Now have a look at the clubs "offer":

Subscription Offer??

A 7 month subscription costs £30 i.e. £4.28 a magazine compared to the normal £2.95 a mag by buying it at the club shop or WH Smiths (if they are carrying on stocking it). Obviously this is targetted at those who can't get to Southend but it seems a bit steep to me. And wouldn't it be a good idea to get as many people signed up on a subscription anyway to get the guaranteed income?

Guess I'll buy this month and see if its any good, but theres no guarantee I'll buy another 6, whereby I might have signed up to a subscription offer.

To be honest I don't really think its worth it. Theres not really a lot in there too read and most of it is just repeated from else where..

It isn't worth it.
We have the website. And some of us buy programmes every game. I also get the Echo every night.
What isn't in those 3 sources simply isn't worth reading.
I can sleep at night without having pictures of the Southend squad paintballing to look at.

But then again, if they were naked...

Seems like an extremely good offer!! NOT!!!
Looks like to me they don't like going to the post office!

I subscribe for obvious reasons as I don't get to see the original source material. Southend United have charged me £40 for seven issues - just over £5.70 an issue inc. P%P - which is almost twice the cover price so it's very expensive. (As a comparison, When Saturday Comes charges just £36 for twelve issues to Europe, which works out at £3 a copy, just 80p more than the £2.20 cover price.)

I find the content of BLUES MONTHLY reasonable and it's obvious that a lot of effort has gone into its production but IMHO the font is very hard to read because of the use of "outside glow" and the spelling and grammatical errors are of horrific schoolboy proportions so I don't know whether I will renew when the original subscription ends. Maybe it will improve in time ...
