Blues ticket office - amateurs!

On Saturday I made the long journey from Norway to Plymouth! I had bought my tickets over a week earlier on Thursday 12th. As the ticket office refuses to send tickets overseas, the sales person suggested that they send my tickets back to Plymouth for me to collect on the day.

Arriving an hour before kick-off I went to the ticket collection window at Plymouth to be told that the tickets weren't there. The staff there said that the normal procedure was that the away team delegation return the unsold allocation before kick-off, but they hadn't done this yet. My tickets were probably with these, I was told.

The Plymouth ticket office told me that the Southend staff were 'doing their rounds' and would arrive shortly. They didn't.

With 5 minutes to go to kick-off I was kindly escorted into the Southend end by a Plymouth official. Phoning the ticket office today, I found out that the tickets were POSTED to Plymouth THE DAY BEFORE THE GAME!

Is it just me, or does this strike anyone else as pretty damn shoddy service?

That story doesn't paint the ticket office out in the best of lights.
Having said that, as I've posted before, I've had nothing but great service from them when I've called for tickets over the past 2 or 3 years!

Chaps, I'll hold my hands up and say this is my fault.

I normally take the tickets with me to the away games but on this occasion I accidently left them at my house and only realised I had done so when I got to Plymouth.

I did inform Plymouth however. Sorry for causing you to hang around, hands up, it's a fair cop.

So the explaination I got from the Southend ticket office was just bullsh*t, then!

Plymouth staff said to me that they had been in contact with the Southend delegation - wouldn't it have been an idea to send somebody over to try to sort it out?

I think the most sensible thing to do would have been for Scriv to phone ahead and explain the situation and then leave his mobile number with the Plymouth People for the Southend fans to ring him direct to sort out their entry into the Ground via the Plymouth Ticket Office .

I did tell Plymouth that I had forgotten them, not sure what happened in the communication from the member of staff I told at Home Park to the Ticket Office at Home Park.

I didn't realise I had left them at home until I got to Home Park.

Hey hands up I admitted I made a mistake, had I been running the ticket office at Plymouth I would have handed out reprints of the tickets rather than make your wait until five mins before kick-off.

Stop Firing! He's made a mistake and owned up. Nobody is perfect.
Not sure if it was Dave's mistake that caused the problem, though. The ticket office told me that my tickets were sent by post on Friday. They must have more faith in the UK postal service than the rest of us!
Plymouth people trying to sort it out got a message from somebody from Southend that they didn't know anything about any tickets for collection. And nobody from Southend could be bothered to come over and sort it out. Is it so unreasonable to be ****ed off after travelling 11 hours to support the blues, that no-one could take 5 minutes to come over to the ticket booth?

McSriven, is there any job that you don't do for the club?. Tell us when its your turn to pick the team and you can be sure that you will get plenty of helpful suggestions as to who to pick from everyone on this board.:D
