A good mate of mine is a London based Lincoln fan so I'm going with him to the Braintree vs Lincoln game on Saturday evening.

I've never been to Braintree before, so any pub recommendations? Or, indeed, places to avoid?

There's loads. As I tend to remember it had the highest number per square mile in the country.

Years since I've been out in Braintree but there used to be some nice little pubs doing traditional Suffolk ales along the old A130/131. Freeport is ok, there's a Harvester or something at the roundabout where you turn off the A120 and a couple of nice eateries by the entrance to Freeport itself.

Wasn't much around the ground last time I went. Town centre probably about 15 minute walk away. The Wetherspoons is fine, like you say its an old cinema so it's got some character.
