If you've read the reports, you'll have seen that both groups of "ultras" were up for what happened.

Yes, I have read the reports. Especially the ones which include accounts of him screaming for help as he was forced into the water. I'm sure he was bang up for that when he woke up on Sunday morning.

Not necessarily. If I thought that I would've said precisely that. I just don't think he got out of bed that morning wanting to die. Nor do I think he'd have referred to the incidents that led to his death as a "spot of bother".

It'll be some time-if ever-before we find out what really happened in "the incidents that led to his death."

I wouldn't have thought anyone involved in Sundays "incidents" in Madrid actually "got out of bed that morning wanting to die."

However, IMO,hooligans who arrange to meet up for pre-match bouts of violence must surely bear some share of the responsibilty for what happens to them.

I've walked along that stretch of road by the river on the way to Athletico's ground. Water looked sodding cold then and that was in July.

Do Dortmund want English fans? They're in relegation trouble at the moment yet the fans are standing behind their manager. If this was England the 'fans' would be calling for Klopp to be sacked rather than giving him the chance to turn things around.

Plenty of booing & jeers from the Dortmund fans this evening as they lost 1-0 at home to Augsburg for the first time ever. Quite a few Dortmund fans left very early as well. Its still very tight down the bottom of the league, but they are still the bottom team. How long can Klopp last now?

And he will come out smelling of roses and no doubt land a decent job afterwards.

Imagine if this happened in England -

Watch this too, unbelievable stuff!

Either incredibly ballsy or genuine respect for the supporters. I like to think the latter.

With Hummels being one of the two that went over I would think genuine respect. He could have easily of jumped ship in January or at the start of the season. Even if he does at the end of the season I think he will try his best to get them out of this rut. Klopp looks flabbergasted by it all!

Just echoing the general sentiments about pricing in England compared to other parts of the world. OK, it started off talking about Dortmund and the A-League is a fair way off the Bundesliga but my membership (season ticket) for myself AND my son at Brisbane works out at about 200 quid.

That includes public transport to and from every match, a seat in a modern state of the art stadium, and I can have a beer whilst watching the match. Oh, and a winning team generally too.

During the recent Asian Cup I was able to take myself for $15 AUD and my son for $5 AUD. For the local equivalent of the European Championships, about 10 quid for both of us. The games involving the host nation were a bit more but still worked out at about the same as a Southend home game.

So no, it's not an option for a cheap weekender from Southend or Stanstead airports. The general point is though that fleecing fans for every last penny or cent is not compulsory. In fact from reading this thread it seems English football is the exception in that regard.

I watch live A-League games every Saturday morning on BT Sport and I think it's excellent. The standard is higher than I expected (perhaps on a par with the English Championship). The fans are more similar English fans which helps to make it a better spectacle to watch than the Portugese, French & Italian games that BT also show. It really should be marketed better.

i love the tie in with public transport. That really needs to be introduced over here.

Difficult to say with the standard of the A-League. The best players in the league could definitely play Championship level at least, but there's a fairly big disparity between the best and the worst even within the same team sometimes.

However getting to see the likes of Del Piero live has been fantastic and at Brisbane we've had the pleasure of seeing Thomas Broich who really could have played at a much higher level.

But yeah, it's a decent league and growing every year. Next Saturday evening game our time I go to (Saturday morning for you) I'll give you a wave.

Went to see Brisbane last year and it was a great experience. Sat near "The Den" (I think that is what it was called) which was pretty awesome. As said above, the stadium is brilliant and they keep the pitch in good condition when you consider they play Rugby League and Union there too and the fact that it barely rains (from my experience) in Brisbane.

Dortmund won 3-0 away and climb off the bottom of the table.

Never really kept too up-to-date with other European football, so seeing Dortmund's decline was pretty shocking. What has actually gone wrong for them this season?
