IT people...

Totally stumped by this problem. My laptop will not connect to my wireless network and keeps telling me it "cannot renew IP Address". I know that my router & adaptor are OK as I tested it on my work laptop and Wii and they connected no problemo.

I've made sure that IP/DNS/WINS are obtained automatically followed every piece of advice I can find online, but nothing. Totally stumped.

Huge amount of green-ness and a pint at the BBQ if anyone can resolve the problem, though I think maybe formatting hdrive & reinstall may be the only way forward!

Cheers!

I'll have a go Andy ta. Dan, it's a Toshiba Sattelite. Piece of sh*t, but it used to connect as I download AVG and some other stuff.

run>cmd

ipconfig /flushdns

If this doesn't resolve then:

ipconfig /release

Wait a couple of minutes

ipconfig /renew

should renew your IP

Most laptops/PC's at home will only pick up the IP of your router unless you have a home network.
