Just wondering if anyone is into their classic cars and if anyone owns one? Just bought a 1973 MGB GT in British racing green. I love classics and gave been dying to own and over the moon with this one as I got it at a steal.

So it's a chrome bumper version

I had a 1980 Mk1 VW Scirocco Storm and I loved it.

Yep, not a fan of the rubber bumpers. Although you can pick them up cheaper and pay £495 for a conversion kit but everyone knows its a rubber bumper due to the year. I picked mine up for rubber bumper money. It's got 28000 miles from new. It sat in a museum for the past 4 years.

I love Scirocco's VW have made some great cars over the years. The hold their money very well too. A Mk.1 Golf GTi fetches silly money in good condition.

It's the Alfa's, Fiat's and Lancia's that cost the money at the moment.

A nice 1975 GT or GT Veloce will set you back £25k or a 1964 Guilietta Sprint goes for £35k or an early Guilietta Spider can command over £40k

I used to have Sprites and Midgets but sold them for peanuts before I realised they would be worth something. Currently on a short break in Jersey and just by coincidence this is on at the moment. http://jerseyinternationalmotoringfestival.com/ . There are some fantastic motors here. Last night they ran some standing quarter times and have some hill climb events on today and tomorrow. Some nice MG's here Ricey, sounds like you've got a good motor there. Some guy opened his truck to reveal and old Surtees F1 car and an F1 Hesketh as driven by Rupert Keegan. Ford dfv engines, sound absolutely brilliant.

A few Elan S4 dropheads here. They seem to be increasing in value.

Yes - I have a 1965 Triumph Vitesse 1600 - bought in 1971 from a chap who lived near Fossetts Farm ! :cricko:

Eventually I'd like to own a Austin Healy 3000 or a Jag E Type but the both go for silly money. And even a wreck holds its money well. See how this restore goes and then work on from there.

I've got to change the fan belt tomorrow so hoping for better weather than today. It was a bit cold and no sun.

I have a Ford Orion 1.6 Ghia which I am currently restoring.
funnily enough, among the mgs and Austin healeys there is a bloke displaying his Mk 5 ford escort. A particularly bland vehicle in silver and batterred beyond belief. I am tempted to take loads of picd and as loads of questions about its history but i cant be arsed

that's what i thought but he has all sorts of stuff about the car in the windows. On a different note there is a fantastic ginetta g12 here. Lovely.

Nice motor. Ginetta were based in Witham for quite a while and were there in the late 80's when I used to hang around there

I had one of those briefly when I lived in Swansea. Green to the first person that guesses what happened to it!

Think there was a classic Fords meet around here today, saw a Granada Mk1, a Cortina Mk5, and a Capri. Now, I know what you're thinking with me being this close to Newport, but most the locals drive Nova SRs

You rolled it or knowing Swansea had it stolen.
