YES OBL you just turn up and park, it is opposite the stadium on the other side of the road so straight onto the A12, bring your torch though because the walk is unlit in some areas! The area has changed a lot since Southend last played there with much more in the pipeline so give it a couple of years and it will no longer be isolated in the middle of some fields!

So, we are bringing my elderly parents, have I got to subject them to this walk or can we drop them closer to the ground?

They can't do that because both side stands have season ticket holders so they would have to be moved, having said that they did do exactly that for Leeds United!

And we've done it ourselves when we had seasos in the North. It would make far more sense.

So if you want to bring someone and your a season ticket holder, you can buy one ticket for yourself but then have to wait until general sale to get the other, in which case you will be sitting miles apart. Help.

There are 1,000 spaces and for event parking it's £3 per car, not £3 per person so no need to drop any passengers off at the service station just outside first !

Except that it's park and walk. It's about three quarters of a mile from car park to the away end. Will probably be a lot quicker to get out of this car park than the club one.

It is £3.00 per person now (It was £3.00 per car) but that is for park and ride, the £3.00 per car is for football parking only now because of course you don't use the bus.

Er ....... why didn't I say that ?

The club were reporting 5000 tickets had already been bought for this game about 2 weeks ago so I suspect it will sell out and Southend won't get any more. I don't know if this included the 2000 allocated to Southend though, if so that could put a different slant on things!

C & P do you know if the busses from Bruff close are free if you show tickets now we have the Park n ride in operation?

I doubt that everyone will sit in their allocated seat so i'm sure you'll be able to find a couple of spare seats.

You could probably drop them off 1st on United Way and then make for the park and ride.

Really?. No Pubs nearby, ground away from the Town Centre, must be one of the safest grounds to visit in the country.
Must have seen us play there over 10 times since 1969, and never once considered the place as one where you had to look over your shoulder every now & then.
'Back in the day' when we used to walk from the Station to the ground & back again, never once felt threatened.

Pathetic rival in every sense.

Even safer these days we normally mix freely with the away fans before the game, Col U open up the back of the South stand so you can go in there to get a drink/food and watch the live games on the TV's. There is normally food available outside including barbecues, and we have a band playing at every game so fans can mingle and listen to the music. It is normally a very pleasant situation although could be a bit nippy in December! The rivalry only really gets serious when the game starts.

Hope this is true as it's exactly how it should be.

Totally true there is often entertainment outside for the kids as well, thats the benefit if having a stadium in it's own space rather than being on the side of a busy road like Layer road was. We even did it last season for Wolves who had lots more than 2000 there, no trouble lots of banter a real ale bar outside, they absolutely loved it and said it was one of their best away days in league one.

Wouldn't it be great though if we could show passion for our teams and still respect each other at the same time.dont need all the other ****

I have a couple of season tickets but only one online account. I can't see how the online system will let me buy 2 Colchester away tickets. This situation maybe the same for families. As far as I can see there is no way to link season tickets to the online account?

Ah right maybe seen it there is an add friends/family bit I will give that a go.
Hmm maybe not. That allows you to link someone that has an online account. So for each season ticket holder you need to create an online account. But I'm still not sure how the ticket office will know you are a season ticket holder without some sort of manual check?

Im not a season ticket holder, but hopefully I will be able to get a ticket or 2 on Saturday 21st November, when im hopefully at the hall for the Blackpool game.

The last 2 times we went to their new lego stadium, the attendance was 8,651 on Saturday 21st February 2009.. & and an attendance of 6,446 on Monday 8th February 2010

So I would imagine, a crowd of around 7,500+ for the boxing day fixture.

Wouldn't matter if both the Col Ewe fans turned up, they still won't let us have any more tickets. 'There's no one there, there's no one there'
