Official Match Thread Colchester United v Southend United (The Big Essex Derby)

Nerves are frayed here for me, sitting and awaiting the match that has such a bearing on the fate of our club. Wish I'd be having a beer but on a strict no-alcohol policy on weekdays. Fear I may have no fingernails left before we even kick off!
How strict is "strict" ?
 
In training, they say Goodship is a great finisher, but that is when there is no pressure on. In games, he tends to snatch a weak shot, or not even have one. Let's hope Phil Brown has solved that. Let's hope he actually gets in the penalty area.
I would like to see what his finishing is like- whether it’s him or management i’ve not seen him get into positions where we find out..
 
The fact that we have time to discuss sheep and seats tells us something about the game so far.
