Flavs is to renegotiate his contract as well to extend it past the one year it has left to run.

Others who contracts are up in a few weeks are:

The 5 of the double promotion squad I feel we will be saying bye-bye to.

Will miss Bentley the most out of that 5.
The Jay Smith situation is purely down to long-term fitness concerns too.

Sodje signed until June 2007 didn't he?
Good point about Bradders though!

I'd be surprised if Tilly let Benno go....

The other's in that list....

They will be handed their P45's I reckon.

Edwards is already on his way, and Bart will go I am sure. Unforunately for Jay Smith his contribution due to his injuries has been virually nil, so I think it will be unlikely he will get another offer.

I reckon Bentley & Pettefer will get offers of new contracts, whether they accept is another matter. I think Bentley would accept and Petts not.

IIRC Efe signed for 18 months in January and Bradbury until end May/06.

Think Benno will stay. Verstile player and can be relied on when needed

Think we have to say thank you for everthing you have done Jay, Andy, Bart and Carl but its time to move your careers into a new direction.

Would be sad to see any of them go, they have all played a part in success during their time at the club.
It's a dirty job, don't envy Tilly and Brush with this one.
He can't release Benno - can he?

Agree. With the promotion and all its glory comes the toughest part of a manager. How hard must it be for Tilly to say sorry lads but we ain't renewing your contracts. And we all know that Tilly isn't the most hard nosed of managers. He will be sorry just like the rest of us to see whoever it is go.

Wayne Gray suprises me as seems to have lost all will to fight for his place this season...Really disapointed me with his performances.....

Don't think I agree about Tilly being hard nosed, I think he is. Remember he has already taken decisions to drop Spinner and release Eagle. Two blokes he played with in the promotion season of 1990/91, and two blokes he bought to the club in the first place.

Agree. (seem to be doing that a lot today) I remember his performance V brentford at home - he was fantastic. Best I have ever seen him play then he got injured. goater took his place and he seemed more than happy to sit on the bench and didn't push himself to get back in the starting 11. Next season we need players that 100% committed to the cause and we do not need players acting like wayne gray did this 2nd half of the season

Didn't say he wasn't hard nosed just not much. Take someone like Martin Allen or Kenny Jackett. They seem the type of managers who are all business and wouldn't feel much sympathy towards releasing players unlike Tilly who you feel would. Especially towards Edwards. I am sure Tilly really sorry to see him go on loan but at the end of the day Edwards is coming towards the end of his footballing career and didn't want to sit on the sidelines so tilly did what was best for him and let him go on loan

Agree about Allen & Jackett, but to get us where we are Tilly must make plenty of tough decisions about selection and transfers.

It must be a sad day for him to release people who have been good servants to the club.

I think we have a pretty good set up here - Tilly with his "Team Spirit" approach, backed up by Ron Martin who will do all the hard-nosed stuff for him. All very well being a Toughie, but the downside is the amount of wrangling within the squad as a result. Very illuminating reading the JackArmy site about Jacket and the number of players he is barely on speaking terms with.
