Cost of living increases

Well if there is a cost of living crisis going on it does not appear to be effecting people wanting to be members of gyms
I have had an email today from David Lloyd (Southend) stating they are suspending new memberships and anybody wanting to join will now have to go onto a "waiting list".
This gym is one of the most expensive ones to join but it doesn't seem to be effected by any cost of living issues

The fruit pots I occasionally buy from Sansburys have increased from £2 to £2.20 and the M&S gastropub 2 Chicken Kyivs I occasionally treat myself to have risen from £8 to £10.

Has anyone hit the £100 limit the pay at pump petrol pumps pre authorise on your card?

I have had a £92 touch so far.

Mine maxed out at £100 yesterday and it didn't fill up completely!

Oil prices are now down below $100 a barrel but the prices at the pumps still goes up, no one will do anything to help ordinary people as the Gov are raking in the extra fuel duty + VAT.

Disgusting

Noticeable Gordon Balmer of the PRA has gone rather quiet on retailer margins other than to say they should be allowed to make bigger profits due to ’suffering’ from lower sales last year. This from the *** who helped cause so much havoc at the pumps with his ongoing scaremongering comments late last year

The fuel in the pumps today was actually purchased months ago.

I filled up yesterday at Asda Shoebury and it was 189.9p per litre. Today at the Esso garage towards Progress Rd I noticed it was 183.9p per litre.

Having just received my latest dual fuel bill from EON Next I'm £176 in credit. So do I build that up or claim it back? Price hike again in October suggests leave it be but it's earning EON interest instead of me. Decisions decisions.

I never pay by DD, my gas bill was 19 quid this month, yet they wanted over a hundred quid DD.... No way am I puting moning in there bank when I don't owe it.

I'll pay what I've used when the bill comes in.

Morrisons have increased the price of their frozen mozzarella sticks from £1.00 for 12 less than 2 months ago to now £1.49. And to top it off the pack I purchased only had 11 in it.

Felt cheated on both fronts

When I was shopping in Morrisions on Friday I noted that there pack of 3 small tins of Heinz beans had jumped form £1.89 to £2.39. In Home bargain these same tin of X3 beans are £1.39 - thats a £1 cheaper!
Inflation is not running at 10% yet but it seems some of these price increases are way above the current inflation rate. This is probably why Tesco has withdrawn all Heinz products.
When is it all going to end?

My 95 yr old father in law been in Australia for over a year, he uses E-ON for his electricity. I look after his Flat in Hadleigh, & obviously since he went there, i turned it off.
His D.D credit built up to around £300. Then when the mega price increase kicked in earlier this year, they estimated he'd use x amount of electric & increased his D.D to £63 monthly FFS!. I tried phoning them to explain the power is off so no electric is being used, might as well have spoken to a brick wall, totally useless.
I can't cancel his D.D as not authorised to do so, & at his age he doesn't use a laptop etc to contact them from Australia. If he ever returns back here ( i can't ever see it happening now, due to poor health etc ), he will have built up enough credit to pay his bill for evermore!.

Energy firms are taking the pee right now, don't get me started on mine....
