Is the price of barrels of oil still increasing, or is this just pure greed?. Fat lot of good taking 5p off per litre in the budget a few weeks ago did?.£179.9 for premium at bp today
There feels a large slice of Déjà vu here. First Rishi Sunak cuts Fuel Tax by 5p and I watch the price per litre rise, then along comes Rishi again waving a Windfall Tax in his hand and handing out the financial goodies to the deserving, and bosh, up goes fuel again (and again). I tell you what Mr Sunak, please don't give us any more, I don't think we can afford it.£179.9 for premium at bp today

It does seem that wine prices have rocketed, the price of a Bierre Moretti bottle is, no surprise, in a meal situation, more than shop purchases but not anywhere close to the mark up on wines and spirits.Yep, I get all that, but the thread is about increased cost of living, hence my post. And wine has always been a money spinner for restaurants but now they're pushing the boundaries more than a bit.

In Italy, France the house wine is usually good value but we don't seem to have anything appropriate for that.

Yep, even the experts on tele say that fuel prices should rise, but not this fast, and not by this much. They are taking advantage of the World situation. Record profits tells you all you need to know.Is the price of barrels of oil still increasing, or is this just pure greed?. Fat lot of good taking 5p off per litre in the budget a few weeks ago did?.
