David Webb buys Yeovil Town

Mr Glover Lover

Hi guys,

Don't know if you've heard but it's been announced that Webby has bought out our majority shareholder and takes over as CEO with immediate effect.

Don't know what to make of it yet, I suppose it's just a case of waiting to see what his reasons/future intentions are.

Blimey, although I had heard a very vague rumour this might happen.

So, will this stop the expected tide of Yeovil players joining Gary Johnson at Ashton Gate in January/the summer then?

Given what happened when he tried to run Brentford I would be slightly concerned!

Beat me to it - I think the January transfer window will be very busy for the Glovers...

And if Tilly wanted any Yeovil players - I would now forget it ! !

I'm going to keep an open mind about it for now but I must admit a bit of concern. We've been so stable as a club for several years now that any change in the internal structure, particularly at that level, is bound to be greeted with apprehension.

Yeah, apparently they're all going to Bristol City instead ;-)

Not because of this, but the question is can Yeovil stay up this season?

I was told years ago that that was the reason Webby came back to us the last time. He was going to be manager for a while and then , allegedly, he was going to buy SUFC.

Yes, I would have thought they'll be ok this term, although the relegation scrap could well involve almost half the table this year by the looks of it - no-one's really cast adrift yet
