Question Devon / Cornwall

Ha ha. Sorry was skimming in a hurry last night. Perranporth has something for everyone and may look crowded to the uninitiated. Plenty of accommodation from camping to chalets, rental homes and hotels. The town is fairly commercialised but not tiringly so but the gem is the beach. Featured on Coastguard on BBC but that doesn't do it justice. Brilliant when tide is in. Awesome when the tide is out and you can go exploring. Only downside is it is a dog friendly beach but don't let that put you off. Probably been there 7 or 8 times in my lifetime last 2 years back when based in Bude.
No offence taken, Sir - I was only having a bit of fun, as is my habit. That bar on the beach is certainly a wonderful thing and though not glitzy, Perranporth is fairly self-contained and much more family-friendly than its Newquay near neighbour.

The only place to stay if you have young kids:

Bedruthan Steps Hotel

Book early or you won't get a suite. The rooms are fine, but with a suite the kids will be in a separate room, allowing you to sleep. The spa is superb, as is the nursery, soft play, playgrounds, kids menus in the restaurants, kids' evening entertainment etc etc. This place is geared up for kids. There's also a huge amount to do around there.

I would say this one is the best for kids http://www.sandsresort.co.uk/, actually think they own the hotel at bedruthan steps as well. Perfectly located for beaches both at Porth and the stunning Watergate bay, with its mile of sand and great facilities for adults as well.
