Having Daniel Bentley called up by England would be a great honour and would increase his value but would make him miss the Oxford game and future games.

Would you rather he got called up or not?

Fine by me, Smith is excellent cover.

I reckon it could be a great boost to his confidence and also he'll be coached and trained by some of the very best.

I think more importantly, it would be great for his own progression as well.

How could anyone not want him to play for his country. What an honour for him and the Club.

If he was getting called up for a different country my answer would possibly be no but I'd be delighted to see him get in to an England U21 squad

What's your view YB?

It's more £££££s signs on his head and he will love the experience, good luck to him:thumbsup:

I generally take the long term view, which would be increased transfer value and more prestige to the youth system when recruiting/retaining, but I'm open to arguments either way, particularly as I'm not convinced there's all that much benefit if he doesn't play (and as a gk he's not likely to).

The other part for me, is that being in an England squad increases his exposure and developement, and this can only hasten his expected departure. Missing out this time, but getting in later in the season would surely see us keep him for longer, ensure he doesn't miss games early on in the season; whilst still reaping the financials rewards, just further down the line.

Would only leave Paul smith as our only keeper as ted smith will be away that weekend with under 19's. But good luck to Bentley deserves a crack at international level. I for one will definitely not begrudge him the chance to possibily establish himself internationally:thumbsup:

More good news for Dan the club .Yes I hope the lad get call up it will help him build a profile in the international squad .And as at some point we all know he will move on to a bigger club .And if he makes it for the under 18 England set up the club can ask for a much bigger fee .

Anyone that doesn't needs to hang their heads in shame. No matter what player it is, it's a privelige to play for your country and if it progresses the career of any player, then that's a good thing
