Young Emile in the under 18s has notched 10 in 10.

Phenomenal goal rate. Hope he gets a taste of the first team in pre season. We have some great young talent that are now bearing fruit.

Well he didn't win in the end, it went to Anthony Hartigan of AFC Wimbledon.

Well that's just summed up a perfect weekend for all us Shrimpers!

A player that has hardly played. Yet drew has become a key member of our team and won a good few man of the matches and player of the month awards and gets overlooked. Joke really.

I knew he wouldn’t win it, what a load of bollocks.

Wimbledon supporters on Twitter saying it's not just down to minutes on the pitch but also to what they do off it. Whatever. Hartigan must have done something amazing off it ad his minutes on it have been paltry compared to Dru!

To be fair Hartigan picked up a season ending injury in January, he'd probably have a similar number of minutes to Dru over the season (albeit spread over the whole season) if that hadn't happened.

Ridiculous decision, Dru has been outstanding since becoming a 1st team regular

On the bright side it could mean he stays off the radar of the wealthier clubs for a while, and we benefit from his talents as long as possible

Makes the decision even more ridiculous if based upon his possible potential over the season as opposed to what he actually achieved.

Exactly, if Messi gets injured after 2 games at the world cup would he be considered for player of the tournament because he probably would have played well if he wasn't injured?

Apparently it takes into consideration 4 things

1.record of the player in all competitions
2.educational attainment
3.disciplinary record
4.any other outstanding achievements

I'd class the player of the month and MOTM awards as other outstanding achievements and he doesn't have a bad disciplinary record. So you unless this award is heavily weighted towards educational attainment (assuming that Dru isn't better at that as well) then it's the wrong result. If it is heavily weighted towards educational attainment then I suggest they change the awards name to something less misleading.

Feel for Dru on this one, as an 18 yr old lad who has clearly got the best record on paper you'd be thinking it is in the bag. It must have been a disappointment for him.

Regards disciplinary, stands to reason the more games played the more chance of being carded as was the case with Dru. How Hartigan could have merited any other 'outstanding achievements' when he played so few games is just ridiculous. Would be better if there was a minimum number of games /playing minutes requirement before an apprentice could be shortlisted for the award.

I'm assuming he's been doing a lot off the pitch to have merited this, at least, that's what defensive Wimbledon fans seem to be suggesting. Maybe going out in the community more, which, if you're injured you have more opportunity to do?!! Whatever it was, it seems to me that Dru has been robbed!

I can reveal Hartigan's true identity is WombleMan a superhero dedicated to cleaning the mean streets of West London of scum
