I remember seeing Southend play a pre-season friendly there in the early 90s. Fry was in charge. IIRC we won 11-0 the day before we beat Southend Manor 12-0.
Think it was the other way round, the Hullbridge match was on a Weds and the Southend Manor match on the Friday or Saturday. Will hunt for the programmes if I can find them!

actually i think it may have been taylor and the games possibly the other way around, it was a long time ago and my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

Just wondered if anyone had any news on whether the game will be going ahead tomorrow night. Bearing in mind the recent weather and no information on the Website. Many Thanks

Thinking the same myself, few non league games were called off Saturday and with more rain since then i think there is a good chance the match will be called off

They're gonna start working on the pitch from 9am tomorrow. The pitch doesn't hold up well in the rain though so I reckon it'll be off.

If I'm being honest I would be surprised if it was on. I play for Hullbridge and we havent played for a few weeks now because of the weather. The problem with Hullbridge is the slightest bit of rain completely water-logs the pitches. Im hoping it is on but i wouldnt hold my breath, but the game must be played before the 1st of december if im not mistaken.

Just got an update....ref carrying out pitch expecting at nine.....

Don't get your hopes up chaps....

Pitch inspection at 3.00 pm I have heard. They have a task force that worked on the pitch today and will do tomorrow morning as well. If the referee doing the inspection mr Stuart Franklin will call it off then the next available Tuesday for both teams looks like the 11th December.

This is a reserve fixture and I think our reserves are available pretty much any time. It doesn't have to be a Tuesday.
