by the supposed fan in East Greens who felt the need physically attack the linesman.

I understand that many people are psyched up and that football is deeply emotional but I fail to believe that people need to climb over hordings and attack linesman.

All the idiot has achieved is instigating an FA investigation that will cost the club in fines.

I believe he came from the blacks.

Yes he was a tw*t though, and he was clearly told that by many of us as he left struggling with the Police and stewards.

If your going to run on the pitch you may as well hit the c**t rather than acting like a tw*t by doing a big girly push and trying to look good infront of the crowd. Might have got the game called off as well so would have done everyone a favour (bar Mansfield) ...

From my view at the front of the Greens he came from the Blacks - a small ageing bonehead who deftly sidestepped the 70 year old steward to take out his moronic frustrations on a fellow moron with a flag. Two morons don't make a right.
Hopefully he is now suffering in some souless police cell being taunted by bored coppers with a flag waving display until the pubs chuck out.
Fans are not fans unless they get both excited and frustrated by their team, but some take it a bit too far. I trust the Club will ensure that this tw*t, and the lino, never darken The Hall again.

Didn't I see you being escorted out after going on the pitch on the DVD of last season's highlights.

not that that was a highlight

On the subject of being sickened, I certainly wasn't impressed by a couple of the racist comments I heard yelled towards Asamoah by one moron in the South Upper.

On the 'plus' side the w***er in the West who I thought only directed his anger at Maher vented it at others yesterday.

What possesses these pr*cks to think that shouting abuse at their own players is going to help ?

The fact is I'm sure there were plenty of us who would have liked to give that linesman a slap in the heat of the moment. However 99.99% of us manage to resist that urge because we are (fairly) civilised human beings who know it is wrong to do so and because of the consequences to ourselves and the club. Sadly there will always be the 0.01%.

The one thing we as a club have in our favour is a good record at Roots Hall so hopefully whilst the individual will be severly punished the club will escape with a slapped wrist - let's hope it is just a one-off!

I heard plenty of stick directed at Asomoah from the upper for being a cheating scum-bag (some of it coming from myself in fact) but didn't hear anything racial - I must have been in a different part of the stand. I do hope this isn't a developing trend, sorry to sound all sanctimonious about this but we really must nip this in the bud quickly. If it is the same people doing this on a regular basis then the club should be informed that it is happening, stewards should be made aware and told to keep a watch on certain individuals and CCTV should be used as well. A couple of well publicised banning orders would soon stop this getting out of hand.

Oh, and yes I'm prepared for the 'oh so funny' posts from certain individuals on here who will take the **** with sarcastic posts of support for what I've suggested. However I'm sure the vast majority of us are sickened by the thought that we could become a racist club and would want action to be taken.

The fact that the guy pushed the lino will mean he will be charged with common assault as well as the public order offence of entering the pitch which will result in a life ban from football. Hardly worth it was it.

on a serious note attacking a linesman would take some bottle, yet it is a very stupid and very sad out look for the person whos done it as he was marched out by a spooner headlock (nice to see spooners got somthing to do for a change) will more then likley get a ban from the club asap and will then get a FA ban for all grounds in the country I am sure they will throw the book at him because I got £150 fine and £70 court costs and that was just for going on the pitch when we beat the scum to get to cardiff and mixed with a combination of beer I think most of you can see is understandable but attacking a linesman/player/reff is all a no no

Oh I don't know - Plastering graphic pictures of the offence all around the ground with even more details of the various club and court punishments that will be doled out seems like a great idea.

He could well have done a few people a favour.

mISTER lINESMAN - ATTACKING - PERSON LOOKED SOMEWHAT CRESTFALLEN IN HANDCUFFS AFTER THE GAME!
