With one of the biggest games in a history coming up its also a time to remember those fans who are no longer with us who would have been at Wembley on Saturday.

My good friend Mark Kohlbeck who was a season ticket holder for many years died in October last year and most certainly would have been there.

My Grandfather even though long dead and used to watch the club backs in the 20s to 50s could only dream of seeing Southend at Wembley. Back then all there was to get to Wembley was the FA CUp and we were never going to get to that Final.

Both of them will be with me in spirit on Saturday.

Great thread, My Grandad passed away at the end of last year, he helped to build Roots Hall, and will certainly be there in spirt on Saturday..

Harry :(

My dad took me to my first game at roots hall, passed away 3 days before the last wembley match, still miss talking to him about the football

Yep, definitely Harry, Steve Hurren and a few others who have passed in recent years.

Neil Morgan the legend aka Podge. Rob Jennings, a Leigh Comm legend. Richard Hughes aka Tricky Dicky.

Add to that list, John Wheatley, John Welham, 'Harry Roberts', 'Crust' & 'Ollie', all ex Leigh Comm & Blues fans. Also my younger Brother, who tragically unexpectedly passed away 2 weeks ago, another staunch Blues fan.
Let's hope they are all celebrating & having a party 'upstairs' on Saturday night.

My dad - an occasional poster on here (Rover John) - died three weeks ago. There's no way he'd have missed Saturday... gonna be a bit of a bittersweet day but also a great way to celebrate him.

Condolences to you, I'm sure he'll be watching down on us all on Saturday.

I'm sure "Uncle Dougie" Yates and LDNFatso, will be there in spirit , both are still sorely missed by all their friends on Travel Zone and I for one am still adjusting to games in the South Upper without Fatso next to me.

When Tims struck home the third goal last Thursday I'm sure the tears in my eyes were partly because last time we went to Wembley it was with those two friends and knew what it would have meant to them to go back again.

COYB !!!!!
