Dobcross v ShrimperZone CC

Handy fixture to have after a GFI, they still have an NT bowler and a few other decent players but nonetheless, it should be a reasonably safe win. Rested Mario and BFG and hopefully can win it safely inside 2 days. If they play their main bowling line up we may struggle for a max points win as proven against Angband last week.

Have put out all my donkeys against team that is top. With better PFL I may have scraped a few points but 5 and 6 are weak so no long term worry for me. Could be over in a day though I didn't tell my opps. Our FC forum is inactive so I kook forward to his batsmen draining PFL. I'll be 4th after these games and back to competing in a game where I have a chance after BT20

Oh get on with it! These are their only two batsmen, both 70k but if we don't one of them soon our reserves are going to come on and then get tonked about! It's PCH as well.

Overs left today: 95
Digana 8-1-27-0
Martyn* 28 (44 balls)

Finally got one of them, shouldn't take too long from here.

End of Over 34 (3 runs). Dobcross: 109-2, runrate=3.21
Overs left today: 76
Reinhardt 1-0-3-1
Daniel* 3 (3 balls)
Dunn 43 (96 balls)

Last Wicket: Martyn c. Sinethemba b. Reinhardt 57 (FOW: 106/2)

Pboranjing CC v BATTY SHRIMPERS

PFL probs mean we only play 2 bowlers, and we probably shouldn't have played them either. H+F / PC and we're getting tonked.

End of Over 35 (2 runs). Pboranjing CC: 119-1, runrate=3.40
Overs left today: 75
Singh 11-4-28-1
Lepolesa* 50 (103 balls)
Bomani 47 (65 balls)

Last Wicket: Butterfield c. Downing b. Singh 18 (FOW: 33/1)

Kamikaze Kricket v DIBS DIPPERS

End of Over 35 (5 runs). Kamikaze Kricket: 91-4, runrate=2.60
Overs left today: 75
Kealey 11-4-26-2
Singh lali* 4 (13 balls)
Joseph 11 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Katleho b. Kealey 17 (FOW: 75/4)

Southend v Angband Town

Have beaten these in the cup this season, just, and never looked at their team until today. Two very high wage bowlers backed up by sensationals. Annoyingly, we have done well against the monsters and fallen to the standard players!

Sunny day on a cracked pitch, hoped for better than this.

End of Over 42 (1 run). Southend: 114-3, runrate=2.71
Overs left today: 68
Davis 3-1-5-1
Dowe* 47 (119 balls)
Tsietsi 0 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Davenport c. Montgomery b. Davis 12 (FOW: 114/3)

Got the divisional BOT!

End of Over 41 (2 runs). General Stars: 286-1, runrate=6.98
Lead by 262 runs. (Batty Boys 24-10)
Overs left today: 47
Hibbert 8-0-57-0
Waterhouse* 130 (105 balls)
Browne 14 (18 balls)

Last Wicket: Cavanagh lbw b. Human 134 (FOW: 240/1)

Took longer than it should have done but we got there. Hopefully we can get to 360 reasonably sharpish. He has his U19 bowler playing who is on drained fitness so we should be able to plunder plenty of runs off him. Duncan is the NT bowler so need to ensure we don't have any sudden collapses against him, runs can come at the other end!

End of Over 5 (Maiden). ShrimperZone CC: 21-0, runrate=4.20
Trail by 151 runs. (Dobcross 172-10)
Overs left today: 44
Duncan 3-1-2-0
Wanless* 18 (17 balls)
Cunningham 3 (13 balls)

The players are off the field for tea.

End of Over 70 (4 runs). Sloe Balls: 173-4, runrate=2.47
Overs left today: 40
Lake 17-3-42-2
Hardy* 16 (39 balls)
Louis 34 (85 balls)
Last Wicket: Tebello Run Out 9 (FOW: 130/4)

Good recovery from these two. Run-rate is a bit slow so draw is the favourite I think.

End of Over 76 (3 runs). Southend: 201-4, runrate=2.64
Overs left today: 34
Davis 11-2-28-1
Parry* 19 (50 balls)
Tsietsi 60 (125 balls)
Last Wicket: Dowe b. Montgomery 53 (FOW: 144/4)

EDIT: Just noticed my gate receipts. Lovely.

Played a First Class match (5784691) and received £716,214 in gate receipts.

This is a wierd game sometimes. Bowling figures at tea - Singh 21-8-41-3, Lindop 21-4-44-1, the rest 28-1-164-1. And we've managed to pick up 2 more since tea.

Mrs BB doing very well as she looks to make it 4 out of 4, and open up a big lead at the top of her division.

Rhodes XI vs Southchurch Village CC

Won a good toss on a flat track in the sun. Thomas for Bowditch the only change from last week's line-up. They have a couple of much better skilled players than me but overall we're probably quite evenly-matched in this game.

End of Over 85 (1 run). Southchurch Village CC: 258-4, runrate=3.04
Overs left today: 25
Tierney 13-5-36-0
Mcleod* 66 (162 balls)

Would definitely have taken this at the start of the day. If we can get through to the end of the day without losing too many, hopefully with Sunny weather tomorrow , and a full-strength batting line-up, we can give our bowlers the day off, before we try to bowl them out again on Friday.

Pboranjing CC v BATTY SHRIMPERS

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.

End of Over 4 (1 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 6-0, runrate=1.50
Trail by 279 runs. (Pboranjing CC 285-10)
Overs remaining today: 20

Mrs BB well placed for a victory.

Kamikaze Kricket v DIBS DIPPERS

DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Dusty

All done in a day. Lovely.

End of Over 23 (Maiden). Batty Boys: 18-10, runrate=0.78 (1st Inn: 24-10)
Trail by 328 runs. (General Stars 370-1)

Good finish to the day, as we managed to bat through to the close without losing a wicket. Plan is to bat today without declaring, and then get a day at them tomorrow.

End of Over 24 (2 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 91-0, runrate=3.79
Trail by 194 runs. (Pboranjing CC 285-10)
Dhanjal 1-0-2-0
Pollock* 38 (73 balls)
Evelyn 48 (71 balls)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Declaration set at 360 for Mrs BB, as she goes for another victory. And she added a Pakistan Intl quick bowler to her squad last night.....

End of Over 29 (5 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 125-0, runrate=4.31
Trail by 71 runs. (Kamikaze Kricket 196-10)
Singh lali 6-1-19-0
Tyson* 59 (71 balls)
Carden 62 (104 balls)

With us only batting to 7 a quick wicket this morning could have stopped us getting to 360 but Sandy and Macca are seeing off the two monster bowlers so when the two numpties come on we should cruise to 360.

End of Over 58 (8 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 258-3, runrate=4.45
Lead by 86 runs. (Dobcross 172-10)
Overs left today: 101
Wijesinghe 9-2-23-1
Mcleod* 29 (37 balls)
Sandile 76 (69 balls)

Last Wicket: Wanless c. Duncan b. Barat 93 (FOW: 193/3)

Hmmm, Duncan on a mega spell and both bats have gone, need him to finish his spell soon if we're to have any hope of full batting points.

End of Over 69 (4 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 287-5, runrate=4.16
Lead by 115 runs. (Dobcross 172-10)
Overs left today: 90
Duncan 26-11-34-2
Benjamin* 6 (9 balls)
Sinethemba 6 (24 balls)

Last Wicket: Sandile c. Martyn b. Duncan 86 (FOW: 274/5)

Hmm, we got stuck last night in the last 20 overs and not much better this morning - all out 266. Even more annoyingly, he's got a 10k and 19k bats opening to see off the new ball, and they've done so comfortably.

End of Over 21 (1 run, 1b). Angband Town: 35-0, runrate=1.67
Trail by 231 runs. (Southend 266-10)
Overs left today: 71
Sipho 4-0-6-0
Petrie* 9 (60 balls)
Kewell 21 (66 balls)

Duncan fortunately finished his spell and we raced to 360. Making a better fist of bowling them out this time so can look forward to a days rest tomorrow.

End of Over 37 (3 runs). Dobcross: 62-8, runrate=1.68 (1st Inn: 172-10)
Trail by 130 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 364-5)
Overs left today: 40
Reinhardt 8-3-13-2
Barat* 2 (10 balls)
Wijesinghe 13 (32 balls)

Last Wicket: Kamaluddin lbw b. Nadauld 0 (FOW: 55/8)
