FC - Match 6

Hopes of a mistakenly aggressive early declaration in the hope of having bowled us out quicker have passed. Now we hope they bat on as long as possible so we don't have to face any overs in the PCH conditions today.

End of Over 45 (8 runs). Gatley: 238-1, runrate=5.29 (1st Inn: 368-1)
Lead by 355 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 251-10)
Overs left today: 17
Reinhardt 15-0-60-0
Bissell* 32 (25 balls)
Eckhoff 124 (117 balls)

Last Wicket: Arunakumara lbw b. Wanless 76 (FOW: 171/1)

I'd expect he won't have a declaration target set today, as he wouldn't have known how many runs you'd get first innings, so you're looking at batting 110 overs tomorrow to save the game.

Not a good day!

End of Over 5 (3 runs). General Stars: 8-0, runrate=1.60 (1st Inn: 130-10)
Trail by 193 runs. (Four Oaks Saints CC 331-10)
Overs left today: 13
Riches 3-1-5-0
Browne* 6 (8 balls)
Cavanagh 2 (22 balls)

He declared 449 ahead and we negotiated the final 5 overs without loss.

So our target is a mere 432 from 110 overs. I think I'll be concentrating on trying to get the draw!!

That's not a good start!

End of Over 10 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 39-1, runrate=3.90 (1st Inn: 251-10)
Trail by 410 runs. (Gatley 368-1 & 332-1)
Overs left today: 105
Drew 1-0-3-0
Lamey* 6 (9 balls)
Mcleod 17 (26 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Bissell b. Howard 13 (FOW: 25/1)

2nd v 3rd is a draw which I think will leave me 23 points clear. I'm then playing 2nd who is supposed to be throwing the game. Assuming he does, or I win anyway, which is highly likely that would pretty much hand me the title.

These two have steadied things. The run rate isn't moving away but there's no way we'll make it.

End of Over 38 (6 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 135-2, runrate=3.55 (1st Inn: 251-10)
Trail by 314 runs. (Gatley 368-1 & 332-1)
Overs left today: 77
Drew 9-1-27-0
Mcleod* 53 (106 balls)
Sandile 59 (87 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey c. Arunakumara b. Howard 6 (FOW: 39/2)

Immense, potential draw saving partnership from Macca and Sandy. This is Sandy's best innings for some while. The run rate has drifted though so the draw looks almost certain.

End of Over 79 (1 run). ShrimperZone CC: 289-3, runrate=3.66 (1st Inn: 251-10)
Trail by 160 runs. (Gatley 368-1 & 332-1)
Overs left today: 36
Naidoo 16-0-66-0
Cunningham* 31 (37 balls)
Sandile 132 (220 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcleod c. Swartz b. Howard 100 (FOW: 242/3)

It's not over......

End of Over 95 (5 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 367-3, runrate=3.86 (1st Inn: 251-10)
Trail by 82 runs. (Gatley 368-1 & 332-1)
Overs left today: 20
Naidoo 20-0-83-0
Cunningham* 66 (85 balls)
Sandile 175 (268 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcleod c. Swartz b. Howard 100 (FOW: 242/3)

Oh my.....

End of Over 102 (11 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 399-3, runrate=3.91 (1st Inn: 251-10)
Trail by 50 runs. (Gatley 368-1 & 332-1)
Overs left today: 13
Drew 22-2-76-0
Sandile* 186 (291 balls)
Cunningham 83 (107 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcleod c. Swartz b. Howard 100 (FOW: 242/3)

Fell 4 runs, short, bah!! Draw probably a fair result though.

My efforts to rest the bowlers took it's toll elsewhere!!
