Due to the fact my ****ing houses are not selling and I have to much free time on my hands at the moment ..:madman: Callan and myself are going to go fishing tomorrow on the pier with a young sprat of is ( notice the Pun there)..

Now Callan is an old hand at fishing ...he was the one that helped Jesus with the loaves.

For those that love a bit of chucking the rod in ...Where do you like to cast your Rod?

Been a course fisherman since i was 15 but unfortunately up here in Scotland there is no course fishing hardly at all. It is either fly fishing or Sea.....I have gone out and brought both sets of gear but not tried it out...........so any advice or help Callan could pass my way would be much appreciated. I have brought a beach casting outfit....WHAT DO I DO???

I went fly fishing last year.

I caught a 15lb Bluebottle.

I think Cricko is probably more of a coarse fisherman.

No I don't like any fishing apart from Sea fishing...The rest I find quite boring ...Beach casting is good fun with a few bottles of Wine in the summer..

I would not do coarse fishing YB I am too angelic for such things..:net:

I love coarse fishing, still got all my gear in the barn collecting dust. Never got in to the Carp thing, a bit to specialised for me.

Sea fishing seems a lot less down to skill and knowledge and more to do with not picking an area that is clattered in rocks.

Fly fishing is an art form that i am yet to master.

No licences or permit required......a lot more relaxed over there than over here.

Does it come under the EAA regs??

He says they don't apply because the lake is stream fed and doesn't connect to other waterway systems. Classified in France under Au Libre. So no permits required under that classification.

He had his first 2 anglers on a couple of weeks ago and they caught 1,200lb's of fish between them.

I do a lot of sea/deep sea wreck fishing and without wishing to dampen your enthusiasm, if you want to get out in the fresh air for a few hours then all well and good, but if you want to catch some fish then forget it. It's in between seasons for winter / summer species and you've got more chance catching your finger on a hook than you have catching a fish in daylight hours i'm afraid.

If i fished which i dont id go out my back door to the lake there and hook a carp or ten.
