Football for 3-6 year olds

Thought I would share this in here in case any of you chaps have a 3-6 year old that wants to get into football...

Perfect starter session for any boy or girl. Only £2.00 a week and outdoors as well. So no loud stuffy halls....

Pay as they play, so no up front fees or pressure to go every week...

On another note 4 of our "Manor Minis" were snapped up by the SUFC U6 Academy last week and helped them to a 19-5 victory over Col Ewe, with one of our lads banging in 6 of them!....Always a sweet moment whatever the age! :clap:

Indeed mate. All our coaches are a minimum Level 1. But plenty are Level 2 up to UEFA A.

Far too young. I guess that apocryphal tale about Chelsea fielding a youngster still in nappies isn't too far from becoming true...

I know Fulham don't tend to invite kids to pre-academy sessions until they're U8/U9, and that's only because they have to because Chelsea went that young. It used to be U10.

Got onto talking this about this earlier today. The club might want to read FA Law C4 (A) (i)

"A child who has not attained nor will have attained the age of six as at midnight on 31st August in a playing season shall not play, and shall not be permitted or encouraged to play, in a match of any kind in that playing season."

would have thought,getting "kids" out,doing healthy things,should be encouraged.in this case enjoying kicking a ball about,under supervision..

Eh? There's a bit of a difference between having kids involved in healthy programmes - the SoccerTots programmes are great, for example - and having them involved in professional set-ups and competitive games where the scores are kept.

Spot on Mr ESB. Football until the age (say) 8 should just be for fun and burning off the E-numbers.

All those playing in the U6's are indeed 6. It's just the way it is done by school years. You would immediately think they are Under 6, but in fact they are not. Especially at this time of year, when the kids are between school years. Very confusing!

The scores are not "kept" except by the parents of course and the games are just "exhibition" friendlies right up to U10. There are no leagues and no cup competitions as per FA rules.

Absolutely. Most parents are fine, but a few are far too vocal and offering coaching from the touchline, which often is completely different to what the "coach" has instructed them. Hence why clubs like ours have a strict code of conduct in place, which if broken will result in the parent being asked to leave.
