LUXURY!!!! (said in a Monty Python Yorkshire accent) We can only dream of an abandoned half built stadium.
 
The boarding that has gone up is by all accounts the 1st phase and the location of the new training ground however, there have also been some boarding appear on the roundabout too. Surely, if things are moving now would the club not have announced something as any meetings etc that is all that is spoke about is about when we get to the "promised land"

I'm guessing there'll be a big "announcement" at the AGM.

I was told it will be at the end of season dinner at B&L, straight after the Bury game. Well that was the exciting carrot dangled with ticket prices at £78 per head.
 
Any 3 sided stadium without the main stand is football suicide for the club!...the team would be relying on ticketing without further revenue streams.

Coventry are the gleaming example,they have recently sold their training ground for housing and the lease on the stadium expires soon..they are in danger of going out of business.City relied on scraps to fund the team..it doesn't work.

Not true of course. Unlike Cov we would own the stadium, so all food and drink sales would be for Southend United.

No Ron would own the stadium...he can charge any rent he sees fit...Ron has never ever stated if revenue streams at FF will go directly into the team...without the main stand the budget would be limited.
 
My prediction... If we get promoted Ron will sell up. SUFC will be very desirable being in the Championship and with a new stadium on the way!
 
Darlington were a prime example that a new stadium isn't the answer to a football clubs financial problems even if it has all four sides!

I hope this makes us solvent!
