Breaking News Francis offer accepted

Thanks Simon and good luck to you for your future. Although coming in for a bit of stick, he has been a good servant for us over the last few years and will be the only one of the threatened leavers, whose departure will give the majority of fans cause for disappointment. The right back birth will almost certainly be a duller place with his leaving, we'll probably get in a replacement that just......................... well............. ...............................................defends!

Come on lads its not a surprise he is going. For one its economics, Franicis was signed when we went into the Championship and was therefore on a decent salary, probably in the top five earners, our revenues are going down and we couldnt afford to keep him. I wish him all the best and this is just a fact of life about relegation I am afraid

Decent player going forward, and his outlet will be missed, but i have seen better defenders at Southend than Francis. Good luck Franno.

Will Brentford be able to pay his high wages though?

thats my question also, wouldnt be surprised to see 'francis couldnt agree personal terms' on the OS, they are still only league one and may not be able to match his current dosh

Not really a step forward is it? A team that overachieved last season and will be fighting relegation next season. Would laugh my **** off if they go down and we went up, but I wish him all the best of luck wherever he decides to move to. An excellent player for us and will be sorely missed.

I don't buy this 'we won't sign' anyone lark that keeps cropping up. Why? Because we don't have any option this year. It's very different to last year as we're now about to start a big transition and therefore there will be a big overhaul, which will have to involve incomings.

The majority will either be loan players or freebies. We will get quantity this year, but I fear we will not get any quality.

Surely any team who is in league one and can play a players wages is a step up? Why do u say theyll be fighting relegation? If anything theyll be pushing for a play off, they have a very good squad and a good young manager in Andy Scott.

In a tough League One full of teams who are easily better than Brentford. I just tip them as a team to be fighting relegation. Not saying they will be dead cert to go down but wouldn't say they will mirror/or better this season. Just my view on it, but hey what do I know I like Wrestling. LOL!

Also says we get £350,000 if Hooper goes to Celtic for 2mill and we also have a 20% sell on if Bailey moves on this summer. So lets hope there is plenty of movement on these players. Surprised it is Brentford though they must be going to match his wages as well so they must have a few bob

Wanted by a number of clubs, lets hope there is a bidding war to get us more monies.

Brentford are a very, very good outfit under Scott and will be pressing for a decent finish next season.
