|Today I am mostly listening to a band called "Blood Or Whisky" If you like the pogues you'll like these. Punky Fiddle I fee. Last night I was so enraptured with it I went on Ebay and have bought a Mandolin. I might meet up with feddy around the old campfire and sing a few travelling songs......

The fact that Shaun Ryder ever had a career in music (being in not just one but two fantastic bands, Happy Mondays and Black Grape) is something to be truly thankful for.

Imagine if a young Shaun turned up (probably with Bez in tow) to an X-Factor audition today? He wouldn't last 2 seconds - yet in twenty years time people will still be listening to and getting off on Shaun's music. Simon Cowell however will be long forgotten. Enough said really.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Each to their own and all that, but surely this is the signature tune for Third Reich FM!

Anyway, much against my normal vein of musical taste, the following continues to bring much pleasure to my ears, probably due to the great memories of my time here in Spain so far; Ibiza is only a short ferry ride away as well, we can see it on a clear day:

Reflekt ft. Delline Bass-Need To Feel Loved

And I finally saw the film last year; very moving.

Both top tunes Xabia.

Top it off with Red Carpet - 'Alright' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdDKalLR0aI and u'll be someway to completing an Eric Morillo type set (i prefere the Brad Carter remix, as the radio edit which is above, always seems somewhat out of time to me)

Good call, dave. I remember hearing this last summer (or certainly something very similar) down at one of our beach bars one evening.

Maybe it's because I'm approaching 40 or something?!

Jeez! My whole musical credibility (if I even had one) is now ****ed!

This holds some good memories for me as well:

MOTORCYCLE - As The Rush Comes

Quick! Better dig out "Setting Sons" before it's too late!

Going back to this statement...

i hate it when people say that for addmitting what they like to listen to!

If society dictates we can only listen to 'cool' bands, then quite frankly society sucks! has society come to a level where people arent allowed to enjoy themselves anymore for fear of being an outcast??

it all stinks of contrived nonesence and **** really, and if i like dance music (house, elektro, trance, euro-trance, hardcore etc) and that makes me sad/gay/uncool, then i dont really give a rats ****, cos it makes me happy, and uplifted, instead of being bored and 'cool'.

Dont worry though, i didnt buy the Cascada album when it came out on Monday.

..I got it on import 5 months ago! :p

I agree. It was really a tongue-in-cheek comment since I'm best known for my devotion to The Jam and The Clash. I like many genres of music and I do love a bit of uplifting dance music, especially know I am out here in Spain!

i get ya now, but i do see people say it so often.. especially when they say they like dance music.

Dont get me wrong, im a fan of many genre's, being a DJ i have to be i suppose, but dance music is a big area of pleasure and expertese of mine, and it gets slated way to much IMO!
