Not enough time to get back to the airport? Can't see flights being a reasonable cost
That is cutting it ludicrously tight for your flight home!Get up 2am, leave house 3am, drive to Bristol arrive 5.30 am, flight to Newcastle 7am, arrive 8.05 am, Greggs breakfast, bit of sightseeing, taxi to Gateshead FC, game, then leave ground 5pm sharpish, rush to catch 6.10 pm flight back, arrive Bristol 7.15 pm, get back to car 8pm, back home in Swanage 10.30 pm
Flight cost £118, petrol and parking £40 taxi fares £40, Greggs sausage roll and coffee £3, other food and drink £25, match ticket price £20 ish ... say £250 for whole day, plus loss of Brownie points at home (much more costly).
Mmmmm
Rubbish away support as usual.1055 sold so far according to all at sea

I still don't get why the club would lay on free/subsidised travel for this fixture. If we win, we then most likely have 2 away games to follow, what then? They will be midweek night games. Public transport is a nightmare/impossible for that. Surely laying on transport then would make more sense.
Didn’t Ron provide coaches for a tenner to Blackpool for Webby’s first game back (third stint)?I still don't get why the club would lay on free/subsidised travel for this fixture. That’s a good start with a week to go. We had 700+ for our first visit in the drizzle. Last season it was freezing with the puddles on the athletics track turning to ice but at least we came home with a draw.1055 sold so far according to all at sea
Yep £167 each return (from Wickford).
We have family in the Scottish Borders and have never travelled there by train because of the cost, We have always flown from Stanstead to Edinburgh and hired a car. Much cheaper in cash and time.
Currently £82 return each on easyJet from Stanstead
Agree, and it's all in theory, nothing booked. That is cutting it ludicrously tight for your flight home!![]()
Message me mate. Us Wickford boys gotta get thereDidn't realise just how expensive the train would be. Any good alternatives for a Wickford lad?
No way I'm doing £200 on train/flight alone as much as I want to be there.
With a family & friends railcard discount for me and my son .. it still comes in at £160 .. it’s no wonder people drive everywhere.Anyone wanting to go by train a two together railcard costs £30 but would pay for itself as you get a third off this and all other journeys (such as the playoffs) you do together for a year.
