If you didnt know about this tool from Google than I would highly recommend using Google Desktop

It takes a while to index your directories but if, like me, you need to recall a particular email message from Outlook, or search for a particular file on your hard disk or on the network then the performance of the search returned on google desktop is far superior than that returned by the other search facilities packaged with OS or Outlook search.

Do yourself a favour and download it now!!!

This is very true. Just had a major problem with Google toolbar which meant uninstalling it, defragging in safe mode and usign various spyware programmes to help my PC

Certaintly true about slowing down your PC. Un-installed and it's running faster now.
