I had to have a job finished by end of the day in Bracknell yesterday and as a result couldn't get to the game. On top of that there was an accident on the M25 and at one point it looked like I wouldn't even get back to see it on TV.

A mate accepted my ticket with absolute shock and disbelief (and punching the air at the same time).

I did manage to get back to Chelmsford and into the pub just as the game kicked off, and although the pub was nowhere near busy everyone was rooting for us.

The last time I sat in the same pub to watch us was away to Doncaster in the play-offs and as that game went on I was hoping that the ground would swallow me up, it was that embarrassing...

Not last night, I couldn't have been more proud throughout the whole coverage, the team have nothing to be ashamed of and the fans can look on themselves as the best in the country.

So I will always look back on last night tinged with sadness, not that we lost but that I was not there to smell, breath and be part of it.

Up the Blues.
