And yes my other question was is 10* the best.

I've had 3.5* as my highest.
Crumbs... well, you've just had rotten luck, then - no other explanation.

Matt - What rating is your youth squad?

Mine is solid, but I just brought in a new outfield player and he's terrible! I brought in a goalkeeper before and he went straight into my 1st team, so am a little worried by the recent player.

BA you wont always get a decent pick. Its the luck of the draw, my youth squad is currently excellent, However i have only had 2 or 3 truly excellent players all season. They have tried to replicate real life and you wouldnt get a youth teams full of stars.

I beleive the Youth settings get resent during the season break and then you build up again. I would advise payng the Max £13K a week as it really pays off, i produced a youth player recently that went for 650K. Which always helps

You jammy sod!

My top youth sale has been, thus far, a striker who went for £133,333... that's if you don't count my keeper, who I've just sold - but whom, admittedly, I've trained for a season.

BA - my youth team is also "excellent", and has been for a season. I've had some truly dreadful youth pulls... but I've also had a fair few who have been okayish - good enough to flog for £30-50K, at any rate, which helps with general turnover...

Matt

What sort of stats do these players have chaps?
are they passable in most & solid/exellent in their main or just solid/exellent in the main & weak/poor in the rest. As mine have been at best passable in the main & a mixture of poor/weak in the rest the value comes up as 100K but noone will touch them for that price which i can agree with as i wouldnt pay it either !

The ultimate youth-pull will have two features in particular:

1. One of his major stats (goaltending, playmaking, scoring, defending, winger... probably in that order) will be excellent.

2. He will be 17 years old.

These are probably the two most important things. Obviously, if any of the "secondaries" (stamina, passing, set pieces - again, in that order of priority) are also strong, then that will boost value.

Note that if you pull an 17 year-old with excellent playmaking, you should probably train stamina immediately for a week or two, since stamina is crucial to a player's worth as a midfielder.

If that is your high-point, then as the stats tumble in strength, so does the player's value.

So, the low-point is probably a keeper I pulled this season (even though I have an excellent Youth Squad...

).

He was 22 years old, and he rated a "poor" for goaltending.

Needless to say, he was fired on the spot, the swine...

Hope that helps.

I have a reserve team all passable with exellent/solid stamina ages 17/19 am hoping they will progress thru training to solid

extremley lucky.

He has Solid Playmaking, Solid Passing, Passable Stamina, Passable Shooting and was 18.

I was tempted to keep him but the money got the better of me

he still only had a HT value of £160K, but there seemed to be abit of bidding war.

I think it is just luck oif the Pull

In random news, I'm up 1-0 in a friendly with a guy from Newcastle.

Still 20mins left, but my 3-5-2 formation has me 66% and has now become a passable formation.

Congrats - you have discovered the magic formula. Well MtS pointed you in the right direction. Get midfield sorted and you start to win games. Possesion is the main aim of the game.

I'm not sure if my midfield is sorted, I'll find out in 10 or so minutes.

Hopefully it is though, but only playing an extra midfielder who has a 5.3 rating.

My first game playing a 3-5-2 formation against a team 3 in VI.318

Mossad 366 - The Shrimpers 0 - 3

View game: HT Live
Date: 09/06/2004 at 10.30
MatchID: 18643150
Arena: Goldberg Summit
Crowd: 2472

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Goldberg Summit saw a crowd turnout of 2472. Mossad had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Held - Waldispuhl, Nitz, Zürrer, Schanze, Diel - Wernli, Loetscher, Pero, Schmidt - Gaul.

Shrimpers started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Clune - Dunne, Judge, Mason - Tidmarsh, McGovern, Anthony, Ankcorn, MacCathail - Axford, Curtis.

Shrimpers seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Shrimpers took the lead in the games 19:th minute with 0 - 1 after some elegant plays down the middle. Joseph Curtis was the scorer. After 24 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Alan Axford who increased Shrimpers´s lead to 0 - 2. The structure of the game started to change as Shrimpers decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Shrimpers had obvious problems in finding their positions. In the 29:th minute Shrimperss Gabriel McGovern received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. In the 29:th minute Shrimperss Julian MacCathail received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 2. Mossad held the ball, with a clear 56 percent possession rate.

The Shrimpers players spent the half-time break getting a rerun of the teams tactical organization. Fabio Diel had a good opportunity to reduce in the 52nd minute but wasn´t cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Shrimpers appeared unsure on how to play. Shrimpers seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Shrimperss Allan Judge got himself booked after a foul. The visitors Joseph Curtis took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and central backs in the 70:th minute. 0 - 3 for Shrimpers. Mossad had a nice free kick routine in the 70:th minute that was very close to paying off, had it not been for a dramatic save by the visitors keeper. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Mossad, with an impressive 73 percent possession of the ball.

Mossad´s best player was Gottfried Schmidt. Daniele Loetscher was a disappointment, however. Most important Shrimpers player was Evan Dunne. However, Julian MacCathail made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 3.
